教材内容分析
本模块以保护动物为话题,让学生在了解世界上很多动物面临灭绝的基础上,通过活动,想出我们社会应怎样采取措施来保护动物。通过活动,培养学生的主人翁意识和忧患意识。教学中应结合学生实际情况,灵活调整教学内容(或增加,或删除,或前后调整),合理设置课时。适当进行拓展,以丰富学生知识,拓展学生视野,进行理想、责任的教育。
学情分析
通过初中英语一年多的学习,学生已经能够大致地表达自己对特定话题的看法和意见。本模块的话题是动物,这是学生十分感兴趣的话题,对于学生有较大的吸引力。但同时对学生的知识储备要求又较高。首先,要求学生通过多种途径了解动物的特点和生存现状。其次,在教师预设的任务中,要引导学生有话可说,尤其是对于农村初中学生来说。因此,教师在安排教学活动时,要注意适当降低难度,让学生积极参与到课堂教学中来。

Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up
1、Show some pictures of animals that are made of letters. Ask students to try their best to find these words of animals. To arouse students’ interest in the topic of animals.
2、Put out some questions to provide more chances for students to say something about animals. And give some clues for Question 3 to give some help.

Step 2 Lead in
1、Guessing game.
Give some descriptions of some animals and ask students to guess what the animals are. It’s easy based on Step 1.
Set up an example of pandas to lead into animals in danger through some questions.
Ask students to think about more animals in danger to lead into that we should try our best to protect animals.
Step 3 Listening
1、Listen for Activity 2 and finish two questions.
