Unit 2 If you tell him the truth, you’ll prove how honest you are.
一、教材分析
本单元围绕“If you tell him the truth, you will prove how honest you are”,这一话题展开教学,通过不同形式呈现并讨论一些与学生生活密切相关的问题,和这一年龄段学生会遇到的一些烦恼,在本篇阅读课中,以报刊,杂志中读者来信寻求解决问题,建议的形式出现,源自学生生活中可能会遇到的问题,在回信中提出解决问题的建议。
二、学情分析
学生的发展是英语课程的根本目的,因此一定要了解学生的情况。设定本课的学生是市重点校八年级的学生。他们具有较强的学习和认知能力,对于接受新知识有极大的好奇心。但是,对于如何解决在生活中遇到的问题的能力和方法上参差不齐,因此在教学过程中要注意对他们进行有针对性的知识和语言训练,从而达到满足学习新知识的需要,又在学习过程中得到能力的提升,为学习新的课程做好铺垫。
三、依据新课标要求结合教材以及学生的认知特点和认知水平,确定本节课的教学目标
知识目标
1.掌握关键词如offer, copy, virus, go wrong, take off, be angry with ,play games,, tell the truth等,学习并掌握运用本单元有关问题的词汇及短语。
2.掌握和运用下列不同句型来表达遇到问题和求助:
Should I …….
I f you ……, you will ……..
技能目标
3.让学生学会表达自己遇到的问题;
4.训练学生的所学内容问题话题与功能的把握。
5.作为八年级的学生学会用已有的语言知识交流如何表达问题以及解决问题。
学习策略
6.合作学习增强语言交流与互动,有效交际、英语思维和陈述个人观点的能力,并在表达和陈述中培养自己的逻辑分析与思考能力。
7.上课集中注意力,勤于思考,学会在学习中善于把握学习的主要内容,听录音时善于听取关键词的方法。
情感态度
8.通过对各自问题的交流,让学生学会如何解决问题。
9.通过谈论个人对某些问题的认识,培养学生人际交往能力、逻辑表述和概括的能力。
10.通过各种形式的活动,培养学生的英语学习兴趣和乐于参与各种英语实践活动的信心。
文化意识
通过学生的合作学习。利用多种媒体形式教学来了解文章中孩子们遇到的问题,以及解决问题的方式,学会尊重个人观点,培养学生热爱生活、热爱学习的良好素养。
四、基于以上的教学目标确定本课教学的重、难点。
教学重点
1.学习并掌握生词:offer, be angry with ,decide, tell sb. to do ,play games , at least, make mistakes ,have a virus , take off, last night, go wrong .
2.学会以下几个句型,并能在相应的语境下准确、灵活地运用这些句型:
My father warned me not to use his computer .
Should I tell him about the computer games
If you tell him the truth , you will prove how honest you are .
五、教学方法
教学方法
1.运用多种教学手段,激发学生的学习兴趣。在教学中,突出交际性,注重启发性,并进行情感和策略调整,以形成积极的学习态度,促进学生语言实际运用能力的提高。
2.课堂活动的设计由简到繁,循序渐进,尊重差异和发展的不平衡,让每个层面的学生都有所学,有所得,让每一位学生都有成功的体验。
3.运用任务型教学途径,创设多种形式的活动,让学生动起来,以活动促学习,以活动促发展,培养学生综合运用语言的能力。
4.创设真实的情境,让学生在情境中去体会真实的交流。特别是在谈论问题话题时,学生自然地是用出条件状语从句。

七、教学内容
Step 1 Warming—up 通过两个问题导入新课
1.Do you have a problem
2. If you have a problem, what will you do
Ask the students to do this individually, and then call back the answer from the whole class, get a discussion going if there are different points of view.
Step 2 Language points. 给学生大量的多形式的语言输入,落实课堂的重难点。
Learn some useful expressions , ask students to make sentences with them.
Step 3 Students read the passage with the following questions and then answer them.
about the words and expressions in the box.
1 Has Steve told his father the truth
2 Why does Steve feel terrible
3 Does Steve want to mend the computer himself
4 How can Steve prove he is honest
5 Where does Steve’s pocket money come from
6 How will Steve’s father realize Steve is truly sorry
Step 4 Complete the sentences.
1 If he tells his father about the computer,____________________ .
2 If he offers to pay,________________ .
3 If he tells his father the truth,_______________ .
4 If he doesn’t use his pocket money, ___________________ .
5 If he offers to do some jobs or help his father,___________ .
Step 5 Pair work 语言输出并进行知识反馈,给予及时纠正和帮助,教师是课堂活动的组织者和学生的合作者。
1. Ask a pair of Ss to talk about the problems they met..
2. Get the Ss to work in pairs. Answer the questions with their own experience. When the Ss do the practice, move around the classroom and give them some help, correct their intonation.
3. Ask some pairs of Ss to perform their conversations in front of the class.
Step 5 Writing.
Look at the passage and find sentences that:
say what Steve did and when
say what the problem is
say what happened next
ask what Steve should do
Ask the students to do this individually, then check with a partner.
Call back the answer from the whole class.
Step 6 Summary
Say, in this class, first key words we’ve learned. Then we’ve learned how to express the problems we have and how to deal with them.
Step 7 Homework: Think of one problem. Write a short letter to Diana describing the problem. Use the stages in Activity 4 to help you.
八、教学反思
本节课作为整个单元的导入课,有着举足轻重的作用。问题是我们在日常的学习和生活中经常讨论的话题,通过这封求助信以及回复,扫清了语言的障碍,让同学们更深刻的了解了处理问题的方法,学生学习过程就可以顺利进行,进而进行语言活动增强学生的语言与交际能力,过程自然而流畅。几种感官并举,很容易达到合作学习的目的。
