学情分析
教学目标 Language Competence Grasp key words and expressions: steal, lay, dessert, garden, admire, in the shape of, shoot down, fly up to, admire the moon, share…with, as a result. Sentence patterns: 1) However, most people think the story of Chang’e is the most touching. 2) Whoever drank this could live forever. 3) People started the tradition of admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families. 4)They carry people’s wishes to the families they love and miss. 2. Be able to talk about the story of Chang’e and learn about different festival cultures and improve our cross-cultural communication abilities. 3. Be able to find the key information quickly by reading skills.
Cultural Consciousness Students can learn about festivals and celebrations around the world and deepen our understanding of Chinese traditional culture by talking about festivals and activities. Love the motherland and inherit Chinese culture.
Thinking Quality Students are able to obtain and express the origin and customs of Chinese and foreign important festivals. Learn to explore , communicate and express their views to improve the logic, criticality and innovation of thinking.

Step 1. Lead-in. Enjoy some pictures and poems about Mid-Autumn Festival. T: What are the pictures about Ss: They are all about the moon. T: What do you know about Mid-Autumn Festival Step 2. Pre-reading. Read the title and make a prediction about the passage. T: If you are the writer, what will you write according to the title Step 3. While-reading. Skimming. Ask Ss to read the passage quickly and match the paragraphs with the main ideas. Para.1 the festival and mooncakes Para.2 the story about the festival Para.3 the influence of the festival Ss:Finish the passage within the time allowed. And find out some key words to help them catch the main idea of each paragraph. Careful reading. Read Para.1 and answer the questions. T: What does the mooncake look like T: Why do people enjoy mooncakes on Mid-Autumn Festival Recognize the characters in the story --- Chang’e, Hou Yi and Pang meng. Present some sentences on the screen. Ask Ss to predict the correct order of the story. Read Para. 2 and check the correct orders and try to retell the story according to the pictures. Guide Ss to catch some key words to help them put the sentences into right order. And encourage Ss to retell the story. Then ask them to answer some questions. Q1: How did Hou Yi get the magic medicine
Q2: Why the medicine is magical
Q3: Who took the medicine and why
Q4: What did Hou Yi do after seeing his wife and why check the answers and retell the story. What do you think of these characters Read Para. 3 and answer the question. What's the custom of Mid-Autumn Festival
Sc: Admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with families. Step 4. Post-reading. T: What 's the meaning of the title“Full Moon, Full Feeling” T: What's the feeling T: Why is the shape of a moon cake round Appreciate the poem from Su Tungpo. T: Mid-Autumn Festival is one of ways to show our love and thoughts to our families and friends. We can always believe that our heart are together. Finish activity 3c. Without looking at the passage, try to complete the sentences with the correct words. Then have a conclusion with Ss.
