课标及 解读 课标原文:理解性技能——阅读简单的文章,整体理解主要内容,对所读内容进行简要的概括、描述与评价。 课标解读:本课的文章以变化为话题,描述Candy的过去和现在的变化,讲述一位性格腼腆的亚裔女孩转变为流行歌星的故事,在拓展语言知识、发展技能及阅读策略的同时,向学生传递出关注自我发展和自我完善的重要性。学生需在阅读后,提取并归纳Candy过去和现在的变化的关键信息。并在听、读、看的过程中,整体理解和简要概括主要内容,能根据中心句推断出作者的意图,作出正确的价值判断。同时,要求学生能在学习活动中积极思考,主动探究,发现并尝试使用多种策略解决语言学习中的问题,积极进行拓展性运用。
教材简析 人教版新目标英语九年级第四单元主要是用used to谈论过去的性格、外貌、特点及喜好等,在整套教材中占有重要地位。承上启下,为 Section B 的阅读写作训练的学习做铺垫。 本单元的主题是谈论过去和现在的变化,在《课标》中对应人与自我主题语境下的生活与学习、做人与做事主题群。主意义是自我认识、自我管理、自我提升。本课是一节阅读课,阅读材料是关于Candy Wang’s changes的介绍,学生通过阅读了解自我发展和自我完善的重要性。3a 要求学生阅读后根据文章的描述匹配段落大意;3b 引导学生关注细节,列举各段要点;3c 则是要求学生根据例句进行对话练习,更进一步把握文章内容,了解Candy Wang过去和现在的变化有关的信息。
学情分析 本课教学对象为九年级的学生。这一阶段的学生英语语言有一定的基础,思维能力发展较快,自我意识增强,在情感方面能进行自我教育。好奇心强,喜欢探接触新鲜的事物,如文中的明星话题,也喜欢竞赛。有了初步的自主、合作、探究、实践的能力。因此利用导入提前预设词汇,满足学生学习需要,既培养了学生的学习策略,也降低了学习难度,为新课的顺利开展打下伏笔。但有的同学可能会上课不够专心,不能很好的随着老师的思路转,基础知识掌握不牢,且个别学生课堂笔记需要老师提醒,下游同学思路一般,学习缺乏灵活性,需要及时引导。
需要解决的核心问题 学生能理解并运用所学的词汇及used to的表达以及一些词汇,如deal with, dare to, take up等;运用恰当的阅读策略获取信息,并能够有逻辑地清晰表达。学生能用used to正确表达过去,并且提高他们的阅读能力:略读和精读。
学习目标 1.学生能正确使用下列词汇和常用表达:take up, attention, private, hang out等 2.学生能认读下列词汇:magazine, imagine等 3.学生通过学习文章当中的重点短语的用法,复习到used to的用法。 4.学生在学习这篇文章的过程中,可以通过浏览首尾句、搜寻具体信息,培养阅读技巧--略读和精读,这些阅读技巧可以帮助学生强化记忆,逐渐培养自己的思维能力和阅读理解能力。通过谈论Candy Wang’s changes,学生可以用英语描述想法,表达自己的想法。学生可以使用思维导图来总结上下文。 5.学生通过学习该节课,能够理清文章内容脉络,更深入地了解到关注自我发展和自我完善的重要性,以及在实现自己的梦想上,永不放弃的精神。

Step 1词汇热身 Warming-up Say the words quickly If they know the words, stand up quickly and say the words aloud. (Designing purpose: to arouse students’ interest and get vocabulary ready and cultivate background knowledge) Step 2 探究新知 Pre-reading Show the picture and the title of the reading on PPT. And ask students some questions. What is the girl doing What was she like in the past Change a lot What is she like now (Designing purpose: to lead in the topic, pave the path for next step and develop describing and predicting ability.) Turn to page 27 and talk about it’s an interview about the girl and the then ask students a question: If you were an interviewer, what questions would you ask her (Designing purpose: It can attract students’ attention and become interested in today’s lesson.) While-reading 1. Make students read the article quickly and match each paragraph with the main ideas by using the reading skill skimming. (Designing propose: Students can know about the main idea of this passage, and each paragraph.) 2. Make students read paragraph one and find out how Candy Wang change from a shy girl to pop star by using the reading skill scanning. 3. Make students read paragraph 2. And find out advantages and disadvantages after Candy becomes famous by using the reading skill scanning 4. Lead students to finish a mind map about Candy Wang’s changes. 5. Make students read paragraph 3 and answer two questions. (Designing purpose:It is a good way to make students get more detailed information of the article.) Step 3感悟巩固 Post-reading Make students think about a question:Do you have any advice to become successful And then ask them to discuss in their group. (Designing purpose: it is a good way to make students develop a good habit of thinking.) Step 4 拓展延伸 Ask students to make a conversation. Two people in a group and suppose one is the interviewer and the other is Candy. 作业设计 Need to do: After class, interview a student who is good at Chinese/math/English/singing/swimming.. about his or her changes. Then write an article for our class interview magazine. Choose to do: Make a survey in your group about their advice towards how to become successful.
