In the deep blue ocean lived a fish called the Rainbow Fish. The fish was extraordinarily beautiful.
Its scales(鳞片)shone with every color of the rainbow, including silver ones among them. The
Rainbow Fish was very proud of its scale and did not want to share its scales with its fellow fish It
always refused the invitations of other fish to play with them, instead swimming past proudly.
The Rainbow Fish's routine changed when one day, a small blue fish followed it asking for a scale.
But the Rainbow Fish refused and told the little fish to go away. The little fish shared this news with
the other fish, and they decided to keep away from Rainbow Fish and turned away at the sight of its
scales. Rainbow Fish no longer knew its own value because no one would appreciate its scales. It
became the loneliest fish in the ocean.
One day, while swimming alone, the Rainbow Fish met a wise octopus. The octopus shared a
profound wisdom: true satisfaction in life is only achieved when we share our blessings with those less
fortunate. The Rainbow Fish listened very closely. The words of the wise octopus made home in its
heart. All night, the Rainbow Fish couldn't sleep. It kept tossing and turning, reflecting on its own life
From the following day, the Rainbow Fish started sharing its scale with other fish. News of the
Rainbow Fish's generosity spread quickly, and soon, it was surrounded by other fish who wanted its

In sub-Saharan Africa, most children attend schools where lessons are not taught in their mother
tongue, but a language that is more international. Some believe this system prepares kids for a
successful future. Others say that teaching in an unfamiliar language can obviously hamper learning
results.
Senegal is an example of an African nation where students learn to read—not in a language they
speak at home, but in French. Forcing children to learn in French could not actually have a positive
effect on their school performance. According to Education Center, the youth's ability to read and write
is lower than the average for countries with similar economies. In addition, more than half of Senegal's
secondary school-age children no longer attend school.
高一英语学科 试题 第4页(共10页)
Such concerns have led schools in some countries to begin teaching in local languages. But not
everyone agrees with these efforts. Barbara Trudell, the director of an organization for language
development, says that preferring local languages can be difficult to understand. That's because there
might be more opportunities for speakers of international languages. Others have mixed feelings
Meissa Dieng, a school headmaster accepts the importance of international languages. But he's
concerned about how well children adapt to the challenges of doing schoolwork in a language they do
not speak at home. Chris Darby, an education expert says that parents often have strong views on
teaching in international languages. But many of them finally support it.“Parents are very eager, I think,
for children to succeed,”said Darby.
Many Organizations have been applying two-language teaching programs in primary schools. In
these programs, children learn to speak French and build learning skills in local language. The local
language is later used as a base to learn and read in French. Program Director Awa Ka Dia hopes the
good results will encourage the native governments to fund the programs, so they could cover more
areas.

Some police departments in the United States are experimenting with AI tools to help them
produce reports. Police officers who have tried the Al chatbots(聊天机器人)praise the technology as
a time-saver. Yet some government lawyers, legal experts, and others have expressed concerns about
the Al-produced reports.
Axon, known for its body cameras, has developed a chatbot that uses the same technology as
ChatGPT. This AI tool, named Draft One, is being tested by officers like Matt Gilmore from Oklahoma
City. He describes the AI chatbot as a“game changer”for police work. In the past, after completing a
search, the officer would spend another 30 to 45 minutes writing up a report.“This meaningless work
takes me ages!” Matt said. But this time he used AI and the process only took eight seconds. And he
described the report as better and more exact than one he could have written himself
However, Axon's CEO, Rick Smith, also noted legal and ethical(道德的)concerns about the tool.
高一英语学科 试题 第5页(共10页)
Government lawyers advise the police to be careful with the tool. They want to ensure that police
officers are responsible for writing their reports. Prosecutors(检察官)never want to get an officer on
the stand who says,“Well, the AI wrote that, I didn't.”
Chatbots that use AI technology are not mistake-free. Sometimes these chatbots can produce false
information, which worries Andrew Ferguson, a law professor at American University. “I am
concerned that the technology would cause police officers to be sort of less careful with their writing,”
he said. A police report is important in determining whether a suspect is guilty or not. However,
human-created police reports also have problems, and it is not yet known which kind of report writer,
human or AI, is more dependable.
32. What is the main purpose of the article
A. To explain how AI chatbots work for the police.
B. To encourage the use of AI in police departments.
C. To discuss the advantages and concerns of AI tool in police.
D.To stress the legal and ethical problems of using AI in police reports
33. According to the passage, what is one advantage of using AI to write police reports
A. It helps officers to complete a search. B. It avoids the risk of false information
C.It ensures that reports are always right. D.It frees officers from boring daily tasks.
34. What can we infer about AI technology from Paragraph 4
A.It may make police officers lose their jobs.
B. It may make officers less serious about their reporting.
C. It might make the police more careful with their writing.
D.It can produce reports more reliable than human-written ones.
35. What is the best title for this passage
A. The Future of AI Chatbots B.AI Chatbots Used in Police Reports
C. The Rise of AI Chatbots D. Police Reports Produced by AI Chatbots

M: Is that a smartwatch (7)
W: Yes, it is.(7) I got this for my 18th birthday, so I've had it for three years.(6)
M:I've been thinking about getting one. Would you recommend it
W: Definitely! I use it all the time for phonecalls, and it's been great for helping me track my daily steps. But Iam
thinking about replacing it.(7)
M: Why What's wrong with it
W:Nothing, really. But I need a new model that can play music,(7) so I don't need to take my phone to the gym.

M: Everybody, let's welcome artist Gabby Low.
W: Thank you!
M:So Gabby, what made you want to be an artist
W:Well, I've always liked expressing myself through different art forms.
M: What would you say to people, like me, who don't know much about art
W:Art allows everybody to explore their creativity. Just pick up a pencil or paintbrush, and let your imagination
flow.
M: That's a beautiful way of putting it.
W:Remember, art is about enjoying the process, not just the end result. Perfection doesn't matter much. Just let
your creativity guide you and have fun with it.(9)
M: It's a wonderful speech! Thank you.

W: Did that website have the information we need (10)
M: Uh...no. Sorry. My friend sent me a funny video and...well...
W: Dave! We'll never finish this report on time if you can't stay focused!(10)
M: I'm sorry. My phone just makes it hard to concentrate.(11)
W:Can't you turn it off (11)
M: Not really. My mom worries if I don't answer her calls.(11)
W: You can turn off social media notices, though.
M:Good point. Thanks.
W:It's OK. Ialso find it challenging to prevent electronic products from stealing my attention. However, the
key is to find ways to make sure your attention doesn't get taken away in the first place.(12)
M: That's a good suggestion.(12)

W:Well, what did you think of the Transport Museum (14) Was it worth the visit

W:I have. I didn't expect it would be so interesting. I'm amazed now.(14)
M: The red train looked fantastic, didn't it (15)
W: Yes, it's a beautiful old train. But they no longer produce this kind of machine. (15) The former engineers

were really smart.
M: At one time, it was the fastest train in the world.
W:I liked some of the old cars and trucks as well I wouldn't mind trying to drive one of those.
M: Did you like the pop star's car with all those crazy colors
W: Yes, you couldn't miss that one.
M: That reminds me, we mustn't miss the bus home, or our return tickets will be wasted.(16)
W:OK, let's get going.(16)

offering fun-filled adventures to boys and girls since 1937! (18)A lot has changed over the years, but we do
have one“old-fashioned” rule here no screens! So, any personal electronics must be handed in at the camp
office It may seem difficult to imagine spending a whole month here without your phone. (19)But we believe
camp is a chance to slow down and connect with nature. Don't worry...there are phones in the common room(公共
休息室)to call home every few days. And you certainly won't be bored! We offer everything from baseball and
water-sking to candy-making and music. We also hold many special events, including competitions and weekly
movie nights in the outdoor meeting space.(20) We're going to have a lot of fun together!
