21*cnjy*com
(Skimming)
  4.查阅(Scanning)
(Readingrate)
  第二:第一次按开头字母(Z,Y,X,Q,J,K,U) (V,W,N,O,L) (FG,IT,HM,BDE,R) (C,P,S,A)的顺序,其中C,P,S,A每个都要分三部分背。

Can you write the Chinese characters “ganga” (embarrassment) correctly? Do you know how to write characters like “tiaozhou” (broom)?
If you can’t, you’re not alone. Nowadays, most people are typing into computers instead of writing on paper. We type Chinese characters largely according to their pronunciation. The result is to recognize characters without remembering how to write them.
In 2013, China Youth Daily did a survey of 2,517 people, in which 98.9 percent said they had once forgotten how to write a common Chinese character.
Compared to adults, teenagers are better at writing Chinese characters because they spend more time learning and practicing at school. However, the impact of digital technology cannot be ignored, according to He Yu, head of a research team for Chinese teaching at a Beijing high school.

????? Britain says it will send ten war ships to Gibraltar on Monday. The ships will make a stop there on their way to the Middle East. Many people think the stopover (中途停留) is a bad time because relations between Britain and Spain have become bad recently. Spain got angry after Gibraltar’s government (直布罗陀政府)? put concrete blocks (水泥石块) on the seabed. It said this was to let sea life grow and to stop Spanish boats fishing nearby. Spain then said it might start charging 50 euros (about $67) for people to travel across the border between Gibraltar and Spain. Tensions increased again when Spain started searching people entering Spain as security against?terrorism. Motorists had to wait for up to six hours at the border.【版权所有:21教育】

Kristen Beauregard, 44, and her boyfriend were in their garden exercising their two ponies (小马). ????? Reading or writing text messages (文本信息) while you are walking is dangerous. A new study says it is more dangerous than texting while driving. The study is from the University of Buffalo (布法罗) in the USA. Researchers found that there are more injuries per kilometer to texting?pedestrians?than there are to texting motorists (开车人). Their report says walking is not as easy as we think it is. We need to focus on many things at the same time to walk safely in a straight line. The research team said that people forget how to walk properly (恰当地), so dangerous things happen to them. They bump into walls and other people, walk into cars, fall over things in the street, and even fall into holes or down stairs.
????? A University of Buffalo professor said walking is a complex (复杂的) action. He said there are several reasons why texting stops people from walking properly. One reason is that they cannot see the path ahead of them. Another is that they are focused on their fingers on their mobile phone keyboard instead of their feet on the street. A final reason is that their minds are somewhere else and not on thinking about walking from A to B safely. The professor said over 6,000 people visited his hospital last year because they were injured while texting. He said the worst cases are head injuries (受伤). ????? A new report from the American Heart Association says fitness (健康; 身材适中) levels in children are lower today than they were 30 years ago. The researchers (研究员) looked at the result from the past 46 years. The surveys were on more than 25 million children in 28 countries. The research team found that on average, today’s children run one kilometre about one minute slower than their parents did thirty years ago. The results were almost the same for boys and girls. The distance (距离) a child can run is becoming a bit shorter by about 0.5% every year. One of the biggest reasons for the slowdown in children's running ability is obesity. Kids are overweight because they are eating too much and not exercising enough.

The researcher Dr Grant Tomkinson said: “If a young person is unfit now, then they are more likely to get illness, like heart disease later in life.” Dr Tomkinson said: “We need to help to make children and young people to develop fitness habits that will keep them healthy now and into the future. They need to choose a few physical activities they like or think they might like to try, and they need to get moving.” He added: “Young people can be fit in different ways. The price of everything has gone up but their wages have stayed the same for five years. The workers want $15 an hour, which is double their wage. Julio Wilson, a cashier at a pizza restaurant, told the BBC he earns $9 an hour. He said that wasn’t enough to support himself and his five-year-old daughter. Passage 19
Walking through the winter park, the trees stand cold and bare(光秃秃的). The winter has shaken their yellow leaves to the ground. As I keep walking, a noise in the background is becoming louder and clearer. Now, 100 meters ahead, is a group of women gathered at the sides of a path. In the cold breeze of winter, they’re moving their arms and legs to a rhythm(节奏).They are, of course, the dancing aunties.
It seems that if you go to any public space around China, you’re likely to see these dancing aunties. When I first came to China, it was one of the first things that stuck me. That’s because in Britain dancing in public is not a cultural habit.? You won’t see any age group swinging their arms and tapping their feet in a park. Usually, they just take a walk for exercise.
Now and again the dancing aunties have hit the headlines. Some people find them annoying. But others respect their right to dance in public. With most of them middle-aged, they finally have some free time to do whatever they like. There is no more work, and their kids have left.
Personally, I like seeing these women enjoying themselves. They remind us of the importance of exercise as we get older.
Besides, most of them have raised the whole families. Now is their time to have fun and enjoy some peace.
(? )1. Just women dance at the sides of a path.
(? )2. The British people usually like running in the winter for exercise.
(? )3. Most of middle-aged women dance because they have no more work and their kids have left.
(? )4. The author is critical for dancing aunties.
(? )5. According to the passage that Chinese women like dancing in public.

Passage 20
For Chinese soccer fans, the new 2015 year is already an unusual year. After years of frustration, disappointment and disbelief with the national team, the 2015 Asian Cup is becoming successful, with China winning all three games and finishing first in Group B.
First-round eliminations(淘汰赛) in the 2007 and 2011 Asian Cups have made the national team’s fans deeply disappointed. But China has created a wonder after victories over Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and North Korea.
Perrin, a 58-year-old Frenchman who has coached two of his country’s biggest clubs——Lyon and Marseille, said,“After three difficult matches, we have a new record for Chinese football. We have nine points after the group stage. We have to keep working hard. That is what we are doing. We have a good team spirit. We believe in each other, work hard for each other and we want to do as well as we can.”
“You can see that the fans are happy and enjoying this,”said Xu Haijing, a reporter.“It is the same back in China, with people starting to get behind the players and the coach. People are enjoying watching the team for the first time in years.”Although it was beaten by Australia at last, our team is already successful. Also Sun Ke has scored three goals in the match.
It will take us a long time to fill the differences between China and the world’s soccer powers. To achieve this, our players must build a strong wish to win and confidence in victory, trying to catch up when failing behind and never giving up when running against all the chances.

Every day when I enter the classroom, I will take a look at the wall beside my seat. You will find nothing special about this old wall if you just look at it. But for the students in my class, it is a special wall. Take a good look at it, and you will get to know the real feelings and thoughts of us, the 9th graders. In the middle of the wall, there is a big "VICTORY". It was written in pen cil. I guess it must have been written by someone who got a good mark in an exam. A little higher above the formulas, there is a poem. It only has two sentences. It reads: All those sweet memories have disappeared. Like tears dropping in the heavy rain. Oh! It must have been written at the end of the last semester in middle school. Classmates had to leave school and good friends had to part. What a sad poem! If you "explore" the? wall more carefully, you will find many other interesting things, like a crying face, or a happy face, and other patterns(图案).
