S + V + whether/if + clause(从句)。从句用陈述语序
选择 whether 还是 if 呢
一般情况下通用,但是宾语从句后有or not,一般就要用whether
句型:whether...or not
eg. I’m going whether you like it or not.

get separated 表示“ 分开, 分离”
e.g. We got separated when we were young.

stay in touch = keep in touch 保持联系
e.g. Don’t forget to stay/keep in touch. 别忘了保持联系。

mention (v.)提及;谈到

复习重读规则
英语句子一般由多个单词构成,这些单词的重读(stress)
一般遵循以下规律:
名词、形容词、数词、动词、副词、代词和表达强烈思想感情的感叹词需要重读,句末的be动词需重读;
人称代词、连词、冠词、介词、以及少数系动词和助动词等主要起语法作用的单词一般不重读(当然有少数例外)。
在具体的语言环境中,句子中重读的单词不同,说话人强调的内容也不同,所表达的情感态度也会不同。

A: This is Jim on the helpline. How can I help you
B: This is Mary speaking. I have a problem. I’m
shy and I haven’t had many friends.
A:You can smile at people around. If they smile
back to you, you can inroduce yourself to them.
B: I don’t know what to talk to them.
A: Firstly, listen to them, then join in them slowly.
