六、阅读理解
A
Some of you have a great relationship with your parents, while others find it to be one of the most difficult challenges. So, how can you get on well with your parents
Family is the most powerful unit of society, influencing (影响) and shaping every person for good or for bad. One of the easiest ways to break a family is to blame (指责) others when things go wrong. Just remember, if you are having problems with your family, the mistake is neither all theirs, nor all yours. You can’t make your parents change, but you can take responsibility for your part of the relationship. You need to say, “It may not be my mistake, but it is my responsibility to do all I can to make peace in my family.”
Parents have the ability to see bad attitudes and weaknesses in your life. It’s important for you to change the bad attitudes into good ones. One of the best ways to make this happen is through the pressure and discipline (训导) of your parents. When you are willing to respect and obey your parents, you are respecting their responsibility and role in your life.
Remember, you don’t have to argue with them. Instead, you can opt to have a quiet talk with them. If they ask you to do something like cleaning the kitchen when you have an exam the next day, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and then explain that you need to study. They’ll show their understanding. They really want what is best for you after all, even if it is hard to see it at times.
