At 12, my father decided to take me on a trip to France. I had never been out of the country before, so I was very excited. My aunt, my father and I went around with my father showing us all the unbelievable sites in Paris. None of us spoke much French but we loved the city.
We had taken the subway all over the city and were congratulating ourselves on our mastering what is honestly an excellent subway design that is pretty easy to follow. We decided to visit Versailles by train. We chatted happily along the way until my father realized we were far into the French countryside and no one around spoke English.
We reached the end of the line and felt afraid when everyone finally left the train. An old man and his grandchild noticed us and came to help. He spoke no English, so in broken French we tried to explain. When he finally understood, this great man settled his grandson and showed us to the correct train and then boarded with us.
Later we knew the truth that there was a train transfer(转乘)and he didn't want us to miss it This kind man rode a train for an hour and a half out of his way to make sure that three Americans got where they wanted to be. He refused to let us pay for his ticket. He did it all with a gentle smile and patted our hands gently at the stop. Then in his quiet way, he boarded the train to return the way he had come.
What impressed me most was the man and his kindness during the amazing trip. Some Americans think the French are rude for some reason, but I always try to persuade them to change their minds with this very story.

If you're planning to go on a diet, or if you suffer from serious conditions like diabetes(糖尿病), knowing exactly what and how much you're eating is important. In this day and age, we have calorie and nutrition calculators even on our smartphones, but they act only as guides, whereas a famous company's revolutionary new device, CaloRieco, actually analyzes the food on your plate and provides accurate(correct and true in every detail)information in just a few seconds.
You've probably used caloric calculators before, and you know that they only offer general information. For example, a calculator will tell you the average number of calories in a hamburger, but it can't tell you exactly how many calories are in the hamburger. The same goes for nutrients like protein or fat. And this is what makes the new CaloRieco so special.
The spokesman for the company said that its outstanding invention is aimed at dieters and CaloRieco is a high-tech device that uses light reflection technology to determine the-nutritional diabetes sufferers, both of whom make up a sizable market. Displayed at a recent tech show, values of almost any food and also provide accurate calorie estimates. All you have to do is put your plate in the box-shaped device and wait between 10 and 20 seconds for it to analyze all the food.
Once it's done analyzing the various ingredients(烹饪材料)in your meal, CaloRieco shows the number of calories, as well as the nutritional content on an LED display. According to the company the device is able to recognize the vast majority of foods, except soups and very dark dishes.
CaloRieco can also connect to your smartphone via an app, and send all the data about analyzed foods to your handheld device, so you can access it whenever you need.
Unfortunately, you'll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on your very own CaloRieco, as the device presented at the show is just a prototype(样机)which needs to be improved. It's expected to be a hit in the next few years, but the price remains a mystery.
33. What is the advantage of CaloRieco

B. It can show the food data on the smartphone directly.
C. It can count the calories of all foods on your plate.
D. It may be popular among dieters and diabetes sufferers.
35. What does the underlined word "it" in paragraph 5 refer to

Worry is defined as. thoughts and images of a negative nature in which mental attempts are made to avoid the expected potential problems.
If we were to keep a record of all the things we worried about during a given period of time, we would discover, in reviewing them, that the great majority of our expected problems or troubles never come to pass. This means that most of the time we devote to worrying, which pushes us to try to come up with a solution to what is troubling us, is wasted. Thus, we not only caused ourselves unnecessary mental pain, but took up valuable minutes and hours that could've been spent elsewhere.
To avoid this, it is often necessary to stay calm and track the sources of worry. More importantly, we should analyze the situation and see whether it is the very problem that is bothering us. Blindly feeling nervous about whether the problem can be solved is sometimes ridiculous(可笑的), for the problems do not exist. Once, shortly before a major concert, a member of Arturo Toscanini's orchestra approached the great Italian conductor with an expression of fear on his face. "Maestro(大师),” the musician said, "my instrument is not working properly. I cannot reach the note of E-flat. Whatever will I do We are to begin in a few moments." Toscanini looked at the man with amazement. Then he smiled kindly and placed an arm around his shoulders. "My friend,” he replied, "Do not worry about it. The note E-flat does not appear anywhere in the music that you will be playing this evening."
The next time we find ourselves in the middle of worrying about some matters, we might be wise to stop and ask ourselves what the problem is and whether it will happen. Then we may be able to go on to do something more meaningful or at least avoid being disturbed by something imaginary.
37. What do we know about worry from the first two paragraphs
A. It requires people to record and review the trouble later.
B. It drives people to try and stay safe from expected trouble.
C. It's referred to as negative ideas about things that will never happen.
D. It causes a waste of time that should be spent on solving the problem.
38. The example of the orchestra mentioned in Paragraph 3 is to argue that
A. the note E-flat does not appear in the music
B. wrongly analyzing the problem is ridiculous
C. it's not wise to be disturbed by something imaginary
D. a man of wisdom is able to deal with worry effectively
39. What can be inferred from the text
A. Arturo Toscanini was a great Italian musician from Italy.
B. Worry is defined as thoughts and images of a negative nature.
C. Time wasted on worry should be spent on something meaningful.
D. People feel annoyed by worry because of psvchologreal problems.
40. What is the text mainly about
A. The source of worry. B. How to deal with worry.
C. The definition of worry. D. How worry affects people.
