Welcome to my home town.
Welcome to my home town Eryuan. It is in the north of Wencheng county, Wenzhou city. Eryuan has a population of 9,384. It is a magic land of mountains and fields. And it has a total area of 45 square kilometers.
In recent years, local government has done a lot to develop Eryuan. For example, the streets are wider and cleaner. And buildings are taller. I think my home town will be as busy as many other bigger towns.

一、Before listening Lead in A short video about an introduction of the town Eryuan will be presented to elicit learning material,especially key expressions in the lesson. And the following Q&A section is designed to emphasize the key expressions: the population of... is...; in the west/south...of... While listening Small listening exercise At this moment, students will be asked to listen and get key information about Shanghai and Hong Kong. The exercise helps students to consolidate the new learned words, especially the sensitivity to the pronunciation of the new words. After that, students will be told to complete two short paragraphs based on the information extracted from the previous listening exercise. It also serves to help students command the new learned expressions. Then, students will use the information from the listening exercise to compare Shanghai and Hong Kong. This exercise is designed to make students notice the basic rule of comparative adjectives. Big listening exercise A longer recording will be played and students will be required to choose the correct choice for each questions. Of course, they will be given some time to read questions and choices first. By doing this exercise, the key words will be further stressed, and new phrases will be introduced and explained (on the coast). Then, students need to listen to the recording again and complete the table. It is designed to help students learn and command more rules of comparative adjectives.
