(2)allow (to let sb. do sth.)及物动词,意为“允许;准许”,常用于下列结构中:
① allow sb. to do sth. 允许某人做某事

② allow doing sth.允许做某事
例:We don’t allow smoking in public places.
我们不允许在公共场所吸烟。
③ be (not) allowed to do sth. (不) 被允许做某事
例:Passengers are not allowed to smoke.
不允许乘客吸烟。
3. I’m worried about your safety. 我担心你的安全。
(1)worried 作形容词,意为“担心的;烦恼的;焦虑的”。常用短语be worried about意为“为……担心”。
例:Don’t be so worried. Everything will be
fine. 不要如此担心,一切都会好起来的。
