文章结构题的设题方式有: a.What is the right structure of the passage b.Which of the following pictures shows the structure of the passage c.In the next part, the author would most probably talk about...
As time develops, the way of producing dictionaries has greatly changed.Nowadays,we can use online dictionaries too. When choosing our words in speaking or writing,we can be guided by the dictionary. However,we cannot be controlled by it,because new situations, new experiences, new inventions, and new feelings are always pushing us to give new uses to old words.
What does the writer advise us to do when we choose words in communication
A.Be open to the new uses of words.
B.Follow the dictionary strictly.
C.Use online dictionaries instead.
D.Try to create new words.
【解析】A。 根据“However,we cannot be controlled by it,because new situations, new experiences, new inventions, and new feelings are always pushing us to give new uses to old words.” 故选A。
Dictionary writers first read the important books of the period or the subject that the dictionary was about. As they read, they copied necessary information on cards:interesting words, common words—both in their daily uses and unusual uses, and also the sentences where they were used. That is to say,the words, along with the uses of each word, were collected. For a really big dictionary, millions of such cards were collected. This task could last for years. As the cards were collected, they were put in alphabetical order(A—Z).When this was done, there would be several hundred cards for each single word.
Why did dictionary writers read important books
A.To know more about the period.
B.To collect words and their uses.
C.To understand different subjects.
D.To learn to use interesting words.
根据“As they read, they copied necessary information on cards: interesting words, common words—both in their daily uses and unusual uses, and also the sentences where they were used. That is to say,the words, along with the uses of each word, were collected.”
With my care, the young magpie was doing well, but he was not happy to find himself in a cage.Several days later, his wings were fine and nothing else was broken. He recovered,so I decided to drive him to where he was found. When I arrived,I got the cage out of the car and opened the door offering my arm.He jumped onto it and looked around.I could see he knew where he was.
What does the underlined word “recovered” mean
【解析】A。 由“Several days later, his wings were fine and nothing else was broken.” 故选A。
When accepting gifts, rules are different here in China and in the West.
Anna Scheen, from the Netherlands, was puzzled(困惑的) when she gave a present to her Chinese friends for the first time.“They refused to accept it two or three times, and when they finally accepted, they didn’t open it.They just took it and put it away. After that,I never heard about it again. They never mentioned whether they liked it or not,” she said.
In the West,it is polite to open a wrapped gift in front of the giver and say thanks. However, the situation is different in China.People usually open the gift after the giver has left.Opening a gift in front of the giver is regarded as impolite.
The main idea of the passage is about .
A.the different rules of accepting presents
B.how to give a gift in China
C.how to choose a good gift
D.the Western rules of accepting gifts
【解析】A。 故选A。
例:①Have you ever thought about what’s more important, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable You might have noticed many people choosing style over comfort and some even go to extremes(极端)to follow fashion. But we should remember:being fashionable isn’t everything. It’s more important to be healthy.
②Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So,they start extreme diets(日常饮食)that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live
③Also,many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and it can increase risks of falls. Some even wear tight(紧的)clothes that influence blood circulation(循环),making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health
④Besides,some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money
⑤So,let’s rethink what’s really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being Clothes or hairstyles don’t tell us anything about a person’s character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes,we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let’s eat properly and exercise regularly. Remember, your worth is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.
Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage
A. B.
C. D.
【解析】A。 故选A。

Do you do team projects at school I do a lot. I enjoy team projects because I like sharing ideas with other people. Of course, team activities aren’t always easy. You need to know how to work well together. Here are some suggestions to make team work easier.
Know the goals Make sure everyone understands the goal of the project. If you’re doing a class project, you need to check the teacher’s instructions carefully and ask questions whenever something isn’t clear. There’s a popular saying: If you don’t know where you’re going, you probably won’t get there.
Assign(指派) roles Everyone should have a role in the team. For example, there should be a leader who helps everyone make decisions. There might be a note-taker who writes down the team’s ideas during meetings, and a time-keeper to control the time. There might also be a fact-checker or a group speaker.
Divide the work For large projects, the work can be divided into smaller tasks. Then you can choose tasks that you do well or enjoy. Of course, you shouldn’t always do the same task. It’s good to try new things, even if they’re difficult!
Make a plan After you divide the work, write down a plan on paper. You can use a calendar to help you. List all the tasks and think about when each one must be finished. It’s important for everyone to follow the plan. And if you can’t finish your part on time, tell the others as soon as possible.
Try to be positive(积极的). Everything is easier when you’re enjoying yourself in the team.

Progress means the act of going forward. Making any kind of progress can make us healthy and happy in life. By setting and actively working towards our goals, we can make progress in our life.
To make more progress in life, start looking at problems in a different way. Whatever happens, if we think positively, it can be useful and helpful. We need to know that problems are part of our life. After we solve problems one after another, we can make more progress and become stronger.
Having confidence(信心) is helpful for us to make progress. Confidence comes from different places, such as proper education, training or having good relationships. We should also stay with people who believe in our success and actively support us. These people can help push us towards progress.
Slow progress is still progress. Just as the old saying goes, “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” Progress usually comes a lot more slowly than we expect. Even if progress is slow, try not to be worried. One important thing is that we keep taking steps towards our goals, and another is that we clearly remember what our goals are all the time. The actual speed isn’t important.
The road to progress is not always smooth. Most progress often comes with setbacks along the way. Sometimes, maybe it feels like we’re taking one step forward and three steps back, but it won’t always be like that. Keep going towards our goals and we can much more easily make the progress we want.
Progress doesn’t always happen in a straight line. As long as we keep working, we will achieve higher levels.
1.What does progress make us do
A.Set lifelong goals.
B.Go forward easily.
C.Live healthily and happily.
D.Think about new things.

B.Some people can push us to failure.
C.Confidence helps us make progress.
D.Different schools expect the same progress.
3.What does the writer say about slow progress
A.It often goes smoothly.
B.It still means progress.
C.It sometimes stops progress.
D.It always gives us a clear mind.
4.Which word is close to the underlined word “setbacks”
A.Prizes.
B.Advantages.
C.Excuses.
D.Difficulties.
5.Which can be a proper title for the text

After a 10-year project to count tuna and other large fish in the world’s oceans, scientists have made a very surprising discovery:these fish are almost gone.Because of too much fishing, almost 90 percent of the worldwide population of large fish—the ones we usually eat—has disappeared. If we don’t act, these animals will totally disappear. That will influence every animal in the ocean.
The demand for fish is growing.Almost a billion people around the world get their protein(蛋白质) mostly from fish.Doctors praise seafood for being low in fat.But what seems like a healthy choice for humans is causing a disaster to our oceans.“People are consuming(消费) too much,” says Lance Morgan,a scientist at the Marine Conservation Biology Institute.
A dish of tuna in restaurants costs more than just one animal’s life. When fish like tuna disappear from the ecosystem(生态系统),the ocean’s food chain(链) breaks down.Animals such as sharks, which normally eat tuna, may die because they find no food.
The news may be scary, but taking action from now on can prevent harm that hasn’t happened yet.World organizations are ordering countries to stop fishing too much. The Monterey Bay Aquarium gives seafood choices to anyone hoping to keep healthy without destroying the environment.
