Three young people told us their ideas about visiting museums.
Chris I prefer museums where they move things round regularly, and bring in new things to keep it interesting. I also like to have things to listen to as well as look at. I suppose I like museums because I'm really interested in history and art. We study these subjects at school but I've actually found out a lot more about them from museums than from my textbooks.
Emily There are lots of great museums for me to visit in my city. You should never try to see a whole museum the first time you go. Just go to one or two rooms, and then return as often as you can to see the rest. For me, it's important that the people who work in the museum are pleasant, and happy to talk to me about the things on show.
Daniel I don't go to museums much, except during my holidays in new cities. Then I make sure I spend at least a day going to the most famous ones. If it's a big museum and I don't have much time, I sometimes walk into a room and choose just five things to look at. I also take a tour if there is one, as I learn so much more from listening to the person showing us around than I do if I'm by myself.
( )1.Why does Chris like museums
A.Because he wants to move around.
B.Because he likes old things.
C.Because he likes reading textbooks.
D.Because he enjoys history and art.

“Look at this,” I said to Mandy, holding up the bright red paper. “There's a five-day art camp this summer!”
Mandy looked at it and said, “It's during the last week of March. That's the same time as the Hill County Fair and we always go to the fair.” She handed the paper back to me. “Tessa, you're the artist, but I'm not,” she smiled. “My brother thought the flowers I painted were spaceships.”
I really didn't want to go alone. I called Emily and Yoshiko. They wouldn't go with me. I felt upset.
To relax myself, I went outside to draw the pine tree (松树). When sitting on the stone, I thought about the art camp and wished I could be a little braver. Mandy could make friends with other kids in 10 minutes, but I always feel nervous when I don't know anyone around me. I decided to give up the camp.

An old saying used for forecasting (预测) the weather says, “Red sky at night, sailors' delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors (水手) take warning.” Is the saying true It turns out that it is. A red sky at sunset may mean that there are clear skies to the west, where the sun sets. A red sky at sunrise usually means that the clear weather has already passed, so storms might be coming.
Forecasting the weather has been practiced for thousands of years. In the 5th century BC, the Greeks sent out forecasts to sailors. They used signs in nature to forecast the weather. But today, meteorologists send exact forecasts further in advance (提前). They use scientific instruments to study weather conditions around the world and make forecasts. Pilots, farmers and many other people depend on these forecasts. Luckily, most of us can simply look on the smart phone or turn on the TV to find out what kind of weather is coming.
If you are looking for some signs of the weather, pay attention to nature. There are two basic rules used in weather forecasting: Weather generally moves from west to east, and low air pressure (压力) usually means rain or snow. So pay attention to the signs. If rainbows form in the west at sunrise, the sun is on the way. Smell the flowers—their smells are stronger in wet air. What are the ants doing Are they moving to higher ground This could mean a drop in air pressure. Are the birds flying low or high Falling air pressure may influence birds' ears, so they fly low. “Happiness is a habit,” says Talia Soen, CEO of Happy Things, a platform (平台) that helps you develop those habits through daily lives. “Many people think happiness is hard to achieve, but we want to make it easy to understand and teachable,” she says. “Let's examine the habits of happy people.”
The experience of joy is related to the good, meaningful life. Happiness can be found in the small moments of our daily lives. For example, showing thankful feeling has been proved to increase happiness. Take a moment to think about the help you receive from others and thank them deeply. It can bring great joy to your life.
Reducing stress can improve your overall happiness. It's not a good idea to worry about too much. Soen suggests that spending time in nature is helpful for stress reduction. Even if you don't have time or access to go outdoors all year round, you can feel better by listening to nature sounds. And a study has shown that people feel less stressed if they have two to five hours of free time every day.
“There have been several studies on happiness and exercise,” Soen says. “Many studies show that our happiness levels are influenced by moving our bodies a little bit more.” The exact reason remains unclear, but even short periods of exercise can achieve this. As Soen mentioned earlier, exercising outdoors can have a double influence.
Having strong social relationships, such as friends, family, or other meaningful connections, can contribute to happiness. These relationships provide support when you need it. A researcher says, “Happy people spend more time with their friends and family members and are simply around other people more often.” So, why not have lunch with your family or reach out to an old friend
As you can see, happiness is all around us as long as we develop good habits.

If you had to describe yourself to someone else, what would you say It can be difficult to see yourself from the outside, but being aware of who you are can help you understand feelings and strengthen friendships.
Self-awareness means knowing your thoughts, feelings and behavior, and understanding how you fit into the world. If you are self-aware, you may know that you love playing basketball because you are good at it, and music makes you happy, or that you prefer watching TV on your own because it helps you relax.
Knowing what you like and dislike, what you are good at and what you find difficult allows you to make better decisions about friendships, schoolwork and even which films to watch. You learn to trust your own feelings more, which builds confidence. The World Health Organization says self-awareness is one of the ten important life skills that help young people lead happier and healthier lives. Being self-aware doesn't mean only thinking of yourself. By understanding your own feelings, you have more understanding for other people, too.
A good way to learn about anything is to ask questions. Ask yourself questions that start with “What” instead of “Why”. So if you don't understand why you keep arguing with a friend, ask yourself what you disagree on instead of why you are arguing. If you are wondering whether you'll like a book, ask yourself what were the last three books you loved and what you liked about them. Looking for patterns in your own likes and dislikes is a good way to learn more about yourself.
Learning to be more self-aware is a skill, which means you learn it as you grow. So try out new things, like playing a new sport or listening to different music.Don't be afraid to dislike something—discovering what you find difficult and challenging is a key part of learning more about yourself.

( )2.Which paragraph tells us how to learn to be self-aware
A.Paragraph 2.
B.Paragraph 3.
C.Paragraph 4.
D.Paragraph 5.

D.Because it allows young people to own a great future.
( )4.What's the best title for the text

On first look you may think it's a seesaw. It's used for a competitive sport called damoqiu.
For the Yi ethnic group, damoqiu is a traditional sport and celebration during festivals. Seesaw-like tools for damoqiu is made up of two poles, thin straight woods. When playing, one or two performers sit or crawl (爬) on each side of the horizontal (水平的) pole. They need to use their strength from their belly (腹部) or legs to keep balance on the pole while doing different postures. Damoqiu was listed in 2016 as an intangible cultural heritage in Longlin County, Guangxi.
Li Jingming started playing it at the age of 5. “Many people simply play damoqiu for fun,” said the 63-year-old. “Yet, taking it as a professional sport is more a game of bravery.” According to Li, since the horizontal pole only hangs on the standing pole, it's always spinning (旋转), making it hard for performers to keep balance. “If you're lacking in strength, it's easy to tilt (倾斜) and you may even slip down from the pole. Sometimes, it's even dangerous,” added Li.
Besides bravery, as a professional sport, damoqiu also needs great effort and patience. Training for a new posture sometimes requires more than 10 days. “Repeating is a part of our daily routine. Though it's boring, it is worth our effort to keep the tradition alive,” Li said.
As more and more young people leave villages to make money in the big cities, they have less time to train on the pole and develop new postures. “It's a pity that damoqiu is disappearing from the competitive stage now,” said Li, adding that he has only had five disciples (徒弟) in training during the last fifty years.
By 2024, Li has been 63. To make damoqiu known to more people, he not only teaches it in schools voluntarily, but also performs in many competitions to show the sport for free.

The International Day of Happiness, which falls on March 20 every year, reminds people of the importance of happiness. But what is happiness and how can we be happy
According to a US psychology professor, happiness is about doing things that are engaging and meaningful. “Engaging” means being so absorbed in (全神贯注) what we do that we forget about time. “Meaningful” means using our abilities to help others or to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
The professor says our purpose doesn't have to be huge. For example, a 17-year-old's purpose might be to get into their favorite college. For a parent, it could be getting their kids ready for school every day.
After understanding what happiness is, you might wonder what influences our happiness.
Scientists found that people are born with happiness. According to the professor, about 50 percent of our happiness comes from genes (基因), 40 percent from our dreams, and 10 percent from our circumstances.“Your circumstances—where you live, your health, your work—can be difficult to change. But most people are surprised that circumstances don't influence as much of their happiness as they think,” she said.
Life circumstances like getting a new car or a little progress don't lead to long-lasting happiness because we get used to them. To keep feeling happy, we need to control how we act and think.
Happiness also changes as we grow up. When we were kids, we felt happy when we got attention and things from our family and friends. As we get older, we realize that caring for others is also important.

A.Do easy things.
