本课话题涉及志愿服务。以中国志愿者为切入点,贴近学生生活,在教师的引导下,发挥主动性,感知向别人提供帮助或者提出如何帮助他人的建议的目标语言。在授课的过程中渗透助人就是助己助人,收获快乐的情感目标。
课标分析
课标要求八年级学生能听懂接近自然语速、熟悉话题的简单语段,获取主要信息,能引出话题并进行几个话论的交谈,并能在教师的帮助下或根据图片用简单的语言描述自己或他人的经历,能参与角色表演等活动,使用正确的语音、语调。

能够在“志愿者招募”的情境中正确使用动词不定式、用情态动词 could 表达建议,以听说等方式理解运用语言向别人提供帮助或提出如何帮助他人的建议;
1. Ss are able to use the following words and phrases: volunteer; sign; notice; lonely; clean up; give out; cheer up; come up with; put off; hand out; call up; care for.
2. Ss are able to offer help and give advice by using modal verb“could”, “would like to”, etc.
3. Ss can master the meaning of phrasal verbs in this section.

1. Ss can make a plan about volunteering and know their ability.
2. To arouse Ss’ awareness to contribute their power and know the meaning of helping others. No matter how little the power is, everyone can make a difference!

教材内容分析
本课以“志愿服务”为话题。从编排设计上看,1a-1c 活动旨在呈现、学习不同援助方式的英语表述,为词汇输入阶段;2a-2d 活动通过听、说练习此前所学的词汇表述,并在听说训练过程中体会动词不定式和短语动词的用法。
重点
正确使用有关援助的表述、短语动词;使用情态动词 could 表达建议;运用听力技巧,听懂有关此话题的对话并且可以正确地获取信息。
难点 动词不定式在英语句子中的成分与作用,以及不同短语动词的含义与搭配。

Step1 Warming up and Lead in 1. Watch a video about the general idea of Volunteers. 2. Review the key words and phrases Let students think who they can help and where they can help others. Let students think what they can do to be volunteers. Show pictures. Show Ss some pictures about them to introduce the phrases such as “put up a notice”; “clean up the street”...... 3. Viewing View the picture in 1a and write down other ways you could help people. Outside school: *help the traffic police *work in an old people’s home *clean up street *clean the chairs in the park At school: *help clean the blackboard *help the teacher to collect and give out exercise books *help classmates to learn their lessons. T:Who are they and what ways can volunteers do to help others S:Volunteering can pick up the rubbish ,clean up the city parks and so on. T:Have you ever been a volunteer T:What can we do to help people S:We could_________________. S:We hope to____________________. S:We want to____________________. S:We would like to____________________. Ask Ss to look at the ways they could help people in the picture in 1a. And then guide them to list some other ways that they can do to help people. Step2 Listening 1 1. Pre-listening Look at the picture in 1a and talk about what are they talking about. 2. While listening Listen and number the ways the boy and the girl could help others. Listen, match and then make a sentence. 3. Post-listening Be able to know the use of “could ” and to know how to give advice. For the first time, listen and number the ways the boy and the girl could help others. For the second time, listen, match and then make a sentence. Q1:What can you see on the notice board Q2:What can you do on the note And explain some language points. Step3 Listening2 1. Pre-listening A group of students are planning a City Park Clean-Up Day. 2a:A group of students are planning a City Park Clean-Up Day. Read the expressions below. And then match them with the pictures. 2. While listening Listen and fill in the blanks in 2b. Find some students to check the answers together. Listen to the conversation in 2d and check 3 things they are going to tell people about it. 3. Post-listening After checking the answer in groups, try to translate the key words. Give students several minutes to drill the sentence patterns. T: Look! A group of students are planning a City Park Clean-Up Day. Let’s know more about their activities. T:Can you come up with some great ideas according to the pictures in 2a A:We need to come up with a plan for the City Park Clean-Up Day. B:Let’s have lunch first. A:No, we need to start now. Clean-Up Day is only two weeks from now. Listen and fill in the blanks in 2b. Find some students to check the answers together. Listen to the conversation again and fill in the blanks. Then imitate the conversation. After listening, guide Ss to check the answer in groups and translate the key words. Step 4 After listening Have a summary and ask students how to plan a Clean-up Day. Try to have a free talk and have a summary. Step 5. Group work -Volunteers wanted 1. Discuss in a group of four. Then find some groups to show in front of class and give some points according to the checklist. 2. Then listen to a song and call on the students to join volunteering! Step 6. Summary and exercises 1. Sum up the key knowledge points. 2. Review the useful words and phrases. Finish the exercises. T: Do you want to be a volunteer How are you going to do that What can you do T:Do you want to be a volunteer This time, let’s be volunteers! 作 业 设 计 Level A Let’s come up with some plans about planting trees in our city as volunteers. Make a poster to let others know what they could do to make our city greener. Level B Master the key language points and recite them and have a dictation.
教学反思 本课的教学设计把重点放在引发学生的兴趣和提高学生的参与度上。在简单学完重 点词汇短语后,立刻用 voluntary work 作话题设计各种活动,让学生通过老师设计的真实情景更好的参与课堂,充分贴近新课标要求的英语学习活动观。然后再讨论1a 中的其他帮助他人服务社会的行为方式,再进行听力教学。在对听力中的对话已经有一定的熟悉程度时再完成听力排序,学生觉得十分简单。在熟悉听力材料后,再让学生针对课本上 2a 的听力要求,在真实情境下,充分练习之后再进行听力训练,这样一些中等程度偏下的学生也能够参与其中,较为出色地完成任务。为了进一步拓展,并为下一课时做好铺垫,我特地安排小组活动,引导学生编更复杂的对话进行句型训练。一步步由易到难,学生参与积极性高。本课时完成情况较好,但是,这节课我感觉需要改进的是在听力训练中没能做到完全放手,没有给学生充分的思考和消化时间,学与练的时间安排上还要引起过多的重视。
