Adaptation and innovation(创新) of traditional opera is the important trend of Chinese opera circle in recent years. In order to attract young audiences of new generation and catch up with the time, traditional opera circle makes efforts to create new works. In recent years, traditional opera came across the change of time and society. They gradually lost the main elderly audiences and traditional opera was not attractive for young audiences.
In order to find new opportunities, using modern sound, light and digital stage effects, China’s traditional Peking Opera is appealing to young people in a fashionable and innovative way, as the classic art faces an aging audience.
The centuries-old Tianleyuan Theater in Beijing has introduced fashionable performances of Peking Opera. The opera combines instrumental music, vocal performance, mime(哑剧表演), dance and acrobatics(杂技).
Tianleyuan has a jingju art experience section and fashionable performances. It has attracted more than 2,000 audiences members, mostly young people, according to theater staff.
“Good art should keep pace with the times, so does jingju,” said Zhang Zishang, a 22-year-old performer of The Drunken Beauty, one of the classic jingju plays performed in the theater. “I feel today’s performance is very special,” Zhang said. She was born into a family of jingju performers and has had 10 years of stage experience, “Innovation is good, but we must also carry on the basic elements of jingju,” another young performer Deng said.
According to Deng, innovation is perhaps the best way for jingiju to deal with the problem of an aging audience. It has made successful attempts to combine jingju with local opera forms such as ballet when organizing performances abroad. “Innovation can help traditional arts go further. We are happy to see many young faces, and some of them even come twice to experience the ‘new’ art,” she added.
11.Why is adaptation and innovation of traditional opera important
A. To run after fashion. B. To attract the young audiences.
C. To improve digital stage effects. D. To change the traditional opera circle.
12.Which of the following can best describe Tianleyuan Theater
A. A destroyer of Peking Opera. B. An objector of modern opera.
C. A pioneer of innovative opera. D. A defender of traditional opera.
13.How does Deng feel about the innovation of jingju
A. Helpful. B. Unreliable. C. Worthless. D. Conservative.
14.What can be a suitable title for the text
A. The traditional opera is dying out
B. The future of the traditional opera is promising
C. Traditional opera circle is innovating to attract young audiences
D. The performers of the traditional opera are supporting jingju
三、七选五(共5小题;每小题4分,满分20分)
Villains(反派角色)are some of the most memorable characters in films, but when we think of successful villains, they might show different features. In Star Wars, Emperor Palpatine is unable to understand others. It is not the same with Darth Vader, another bad guy in the movie-yet they are both clearly successful villains. The difference raises one question.① _____
Firstly, a horrible personal look can help to create frightening villains. ② _____ For example, in Martin Scorsese's films, villains with scars (疤痕) on their faces usually wear expensive suits while attacking people, which encourages audiences to be afraid of their power.
Secondly, effective villains also have to test heroes in the story. ③ _____ In Whiplash, the extremely strict jazz teacher never accepts any mistakes, and he often punishes his students heavily. The hero, Andrew, one of his students with a strong will, is tested by having to face such a frightening villain again and again.
Here comes the last trick. ④ _____ To become memorable and achieve a lasting place in film history, a villain needs to have a purpose or motivation (动机). In Misery, the nurse Annie keeps her favourite writer, Paul, as a prisoner. What's her motivation She wants him to rewrite his next chapter as she is unhappy with the ending of his latest work. ⑤ _____
Next time you find yourself watching a villain on screen, see which of these tricks have been used to make them particularly memorable!
A. They can't just be beaten easily.
B. What makes a successful villain
C. Are villains really necessary in all films
D. The film is well organised in terms of the storyline.
E. It's necessary for a villain to be bad with a purpose.
F. This sense of fear can be achieved in different ways.
G. The screenwriter gave her a reason to move the story forward.

二、阅读理解(共4小题;每小题5分,满分20分)
Adaptations are the currency of the movie industry .It's common to see that the latest hit movie or thrilling drama is inspired by a novel, video game, or perhaps even a comic book. The journey of the page being adapted to the screen has been covered a lot. But rarely is the process spoken about in reverse.
The most well-known version of a film making its way to the publishing industry is through the classic novelisation. Movie novelisations went through a popular period before the Internet existed. Fans wanted to keep learning more about the fictional worlds they had stepped into and needed to experience the story again in a new way. They couldn't simply google it, nor could they immediately get the production on tape Therefore, the novelisation was a great solution.
Novelisations were usually written by authors who were not involved in the movie-making process. Instead, they would receive the most complete version of the screenplay to hand and would begin to write their adaptation based on that document. Although changes could be made, there were times when a novelization didn't actually reflect what happened on the screen because scenes could be cut or replaced and the novelisations were left outdated. But there's also an advantage. The novelisations were a small piece of movie-making history in their own right. Massive films like Star Wars, ET, Back To The Future, and Alien all their own page adaptation. It was a completely unique experience before the films were even available to watch. For a time, they were everything for cinema lovers.
Regardless of the influences on the tales, movie adaptations provide a creative outlet for new concepts to be developed. That's a wonderful idea, which should be encouraged for those movies that never got a chance to continue on their path.
11.What does the underlined phrase "in reverse" in pglggraph 1 mean
A. Equally. B. Oppositely. C. Similarly. D. Completely.
12.Why were movie novelisations popular before the Internet existed
A. They took the place of productions on tape.
B. They were adapted from up-to-date novels.
C. They satisfied fans' curiosity in a different way.
D. They created a fictional world for people to first step in.
13.What is probably the disadvantage of a novelisation
A. Its choosing the wrong story.
B. Its missing the point of the screenplay.
C. Its cutting and replacing movie scenes.
D. Its failing to match the original movie.
14.Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A. Novel-Based Movies B. Fast-Developing Industries
C. Film-to-Book Adaptations D. Well-Known Novelisations

Dear Editor,
I'm a senior high school student named Li Hua. Now it's fashionable for many students to have iPads. Using an iPad, we can listen to music, download a lot of learning material and read them on the screen. Apparently, it's helpful to our study, especially to our English listening.
Some students, however, bring their iPads to the classroom listening to music with earphones or even playing video games, which makes teachers and other students greatly annoyed.
In my opinion, the classroom is a place for students to study in, and concentration is awfully needed by us. Therefore, we should make good use of iPads to help achieve academic success. Meanwhile, schools should make a rule to guide the students to use iPads in a proper way.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
