He sent the journalist two more faxes, but received no reply.
He sent yet another fax informing the journalist that if he did not reply soon he would be fired.

部分倒装结构:
条件:
特殊成分提句首,
否定只有一样so,
祝愿虚拟让步 though,
从句倒装主保留。
(1)否定词(组)提到句首
eg. Never have I seen such a beauty.
By no means is he a good guy.
Not until all the wars stopped did the country began to develop the economy.
(2)only引导的状语提到句首
Only after suffering from loss can you know how to cherish.
Only on Mondays can we go shopping.
(3) So/Neither提到句首,表示“…也一样”
(4)表示祝愿的句型
eg. Long live the People’s Republic of China.
May the friendship between us last forever.
(5)虚拟语气中, 从句省略if, should, were, had提前
Should I have enough time and money, I would take a round-the-world trip.
Had I known the serious outcome, I wouldn’t make that foolish mistake.
(6)由as/though 引导让步状语从句
eg. Gentle though he seems, he is in fact very cruel.
Child as he was, he had a good command of English.
However, he had at last been allowed to send a fax in which he informed the editor that the he had been arrested while counting the 1,084 steps leading to the fifteen-foot wall which surrounded the president's palace.

=he had asked for permission
