In 1939 living conditions in China were extremely challenging due to the ongoing war, economic difficulties, and political instability. There were few hospitals and clinics, and those that existed were often under-resourced and overcrowded.
Life in America in 1939 was a complex mix of recovery from the Great Depression. The economy was gradually improving and people had more access to hospitals and medical facilities.
The living condition in America was much better than that in China in 1939.
