How long... how long 在本课中意为“(时间)多久”,用于提问时间的长短。
e.g.How long will you stay in Beijing
你将在北京待多长时间
how long与现在完成时连用时,谓语动词要用延续性动词,如stay, live, work, wait等, 答语中的时间段前要用for。e.g. (1) —How long have you waited here 你在这等多久了 —For about twenty minutes. 大约二十分钟了。(2) —How long has he worked in the hospital
他在这个医院工作多久了 —For ten years.十年了。
如果是buy, borrow等短暂性动词,可分别变为get, keep与how long连用。
例如:—How long has Mr. Liu got his car
