Unit 2 This morning we took a walk.
Teaching aims:
1. To get information from the reading material about holiday journeys.
2. Main sentences:
1) I arrived by plane the day before yesterday
2) we had to wait in line for an hour.
3) We waited till all the lights were on
4) Tomorrow we’re going to visit a famous palace
3. Key vocabulary: tired, buy presents, visit, relax, send, email, take photos
4. Key structures: past simple irregular verbs.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Reading
Read the passage.
Step 2. Check the true sentences
1. Betty arrived in Paris two days ago.
2. She took a tour in the city the day before yesterday.21教育网
3. They took the Paris Underground today.
4. They waited for three hours to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
5. Tomorrow they are going to take a boat tour on the River Seine.
Step 3. Complete the diary
Work in groups, complete the diary. Check the answers together.
Step 4. Grammar
一、概念:表示过去发生的动作或存在的状况,常与表示过去的时间状语连用,
如:Yesterday, last year, three days ago, in 1990, before liberation …
二、构成:由动词的过去式来表示。
(一)规则动词的过去式
1. 在动词后加-ed或-d
worked stayed wanted lived
2. “辅音字母+ y”结尾的动词先将 y 变为 i ,再加 -ed。
如: studied, tried
3. 重读闭音节或r音节结尾而末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词,先双写辅音字母再加 -ed(以x结尾的词除外),如:
stop—stopped, plan—planned, permit—permitted
(二)不规则动词的过去式
1. begin—began drink—drank
come—came eat—ate
grow—grew run—ran
know—knew say—said
win—won speak—spoke
take—took write—wrote
get—got
2. 变词尾的 – d 为 – t
build—built lend—lent
send—sent spend—spent
3. 与动词原形一样:
cut—cut put—put
cost—cost hurt—hurt
shut—shut
4. 变-ay 为-aid (少数动词)
say—said pay—paid
5. 采用不同词根:
come—came
be—was (I, he, she, it );were
sell—sold teach—taught buy—bought
Step 5. Compare    一般过去时表示的动作或状态都已成为过去,现已不复存在。   Christine was an invalid all her life.    (含义:她已不在人间。)   Christine has been an invalid all her life.    (含义:她现在还活着)   Mrs. Darby lived in Kentucky for seven years.   (含义:达比太太已不再住在肯塔基州。)   Mrs. Darby has lived in Kentucky for seven years.   (含义:现在还住在肯塔基州,有可能指刚离去)21世纪教育网版权所有
