How to protect our eyesight
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As we all know, eyes are very important to us. Good eyesight can make life easier. However, many students have poor eyesight now. In order to protect our eyesight, we should follow these suggestions.
In my opinion, it’s important to have good eyesight. We should develop good habits of using our eyes. For example, we’d better take a break after reading for 45 minutes. We can do eye exercises and do more sports. They are helpful to protect our eyesight. I hope we protect our eyes well so that we can see the colorful world clearly.
In a word, let’s take action to say goodbye to thick glasses.

The medicine that Walter Lewis took for his rheumatoid arthritis(类风湿性关节炎) caused him to wake up in the middle of the night with a dry mouth. Lewis awoke at 2:30 am needing water.
He was walking back upstairs from the kitchen when he heard his dog, Rock. “He made enough noise for me to go to him. When I made it to the bottom of the stairs, he was running up, but he never came up the stairs. I thought that was his way of telling me something,” Lewis said. He walked downstairs again, and that’s when he saw fire.
He quickly shouted to his wife to wake her up and get their kid. Then he got everybody out on the roof(屋顶) and threw a blanket out there so they wouldn’t slip over(滑倒). It was cold. He started shouting for help. But there was no answer.
He was scared of heights and had physical issues(问题), but he couldn’t let his family burn up. Luckily, he remembered the ladder(梯子) on the second floor and got it on the roof.
After placing it against the house, he climbed back up to the roof to save his family members. He wrapped(缠绕) his arms around his daughter. Then he climbed down the ladder. Once on the ground, he went back up to the roof to save his wife.
“I tried to get my dog, but it was too late and he just disappeared in the black smoke. I’m not a hero. I’m just an ordinary person who would help anybody. This happened to be the time when I helped my own family. I live to protect my family. Just like Rock — he lived to protect us,” Lewis said.

Less Pressure, Better Life
Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to stand here and give you a short speech. My topic is “Less Pressure, Better Life”. __________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Pressure is a serious problem in today’s world. Students in my class feel stressed from time to time. Some students can’t get on well with their classmates, while others may worry about their exams.
I’m always under pressure, too. My parents wanted me to be the top student in class. So they sent me to all kinds of after-school classes at weekends. Last Monday evening, I had a talk with my mother. I told her I

was not lazy. I really felt tired and I needed time to relax. My mother agreed with me at last. So I think having a conversation with parents is necessary to solve the problem.
That’s all. Thank you!
