Improve students' pronunciation of vowels. Teaching Key Points: 1. Mastering the vocabulary and expressions related to introducing oneself and greeting others. 2. Training students' listening skills to extract key information. 3. Helping students use appropriate language in different situations. Teaching Difficult Points: 1. How to guide students to accurately understand and answer the questions after listening. 2. Encouraging students to actively participate in group conversations and express themselves fluently. Teaching Methods: 1. Task-based Language Teaching 2. Communicative Language Teaching Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Lead-in (5 minutes) Show some pictures of people in different situations and ask students to guess what they are doing. Then introduce the topic "Get to know new people". Step 2: Picture Matching and Description (10 minutes) 1. Present the pictures and sentences on the PPT. Ask students to match them and describe what the people in the pictures are doing. 2. Invite several students to share their answers and give feedback. Play Conversation 2. Students listen and tick Max's and Amy's favourite subjects. 2. Have a brief discussion with students about their choices and reasons. Step 5: Listening Practice Conversation 3 (5 minutes) 1. Play Conversation 3. Students listen and answer the questions. 2. Encourage students to share their thoughts and discuss the possible answers. Step 6: Group Work and Conversation Creation (5 minutes) 1. Divide students into groups and assign each group one of the given situations. 2. Guide them to make conversations using the provided introductions, greetings, and responses. 3. Walk around the classroom to offer help and guidance. Step 7: Pronunciation Practice (5 minutes) 1. Play the audio for the pronunciation part. Students listen and repeat. 2. Ask them to add a word to each group and practice pronouncing the words. Step 8: Summary and Homework (5 minutes) 1. Summarize the key points of this lesson, including vocabulary, listening skills, and speaking expressions. 2. Assign homework: Ask students to write a short paragraph introducing themselves and a new friend they met recently.
