THE UNDERDOG
Paul had a strong desire to play for the team, but his small stature prohibited it. He was usually on the bench, serving as a replacement. However, the thought of quitting never crossed his mind. Inspired by his idol, he regularly trained for endurance on the track and frequently practiced skills on the court.
Exercise occupied most of his time, and all his extra hard work finally paid off. In the annual competition, he got the chance. When the last quarter was about to begin, two players crashed into each other. The coach had to replace them with Paul. Although the competitors’ defence was tough, others couldn’t catch up with his speed. The audience couldn’t stop clapping.
He did earn his place.
