Dear Mayor,
I’m glad to write this letter to you. I’d like to talk about the environment in our city.
Our city is not as beautiful as before. Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious. The river is dirty. People are throwing litter into the river or in public places like parks. Factories are putting waste into the river and they burn coal. And most of us ride in cars to school. I think it is time to play a part in saving the earth.
First of all, we should let more people know the importance of environmental protection. We’re supposed to save water and energy in our daily life. Second, to cut down air pollution, we should ride a bike or walk to school instead of riding in cars. If it’s far, we can take the bus instead. Third, we shouldn’t throw litter everywhere. We should put it in the bins. As for waste pollution, we should never take wooden chopsticks or plastic forks when buying takeaway food. We can also use reusable bags instead of plastic bags. What’s more, the government should close down the factories that are putting waste into the river .
The earth is our home and it is our duty to take care of it. Let’s take action now! I hope that you can take my advice. Thank you.
