学情分析 本课例之前,学生已经完成了本单元阅读、词汇、语法、写作和听说课程的学习,对于单元主题人与自然的理解也更深入一步。本课时教学内容分为两部分,分别是视频教学和复习巩固。学生对于视频内容BioBlitz活动较为感兴趣,但是由于缺乏背景知识以及听力水平有限,学生在理解视频具体关键信息时可能会有些许困难。
学习目标 通过观看视频,了解在华盛顿特区的岩溪公园(Rock Creek Park)开展的BioBlitz活动的相关信息。 讨论中国具有不同种类动植物的公园及公园的活动。 阅读一些自然遗产的相关信息,复习本单元的词汇和语法。

教学评活动过程 教师活动学生活动环节一: Brainstorm教师活动 Before watching,ask students to discuss what they know about BioBlitz. They can also read the brief introduction on Page 36.学生活动 Read the brief introduction of BioBlitz and discuss it in groups. 设计意图: 在观看视频之前,让学生讨论BioBlitz,激活学生已有认知和观看视频的兴趣,有助于提高观看视频的注意力。环节二:Video Time 教师活动 Discussion. (Before You Watch) Ask students to work in groups and use the phrases in the box to describe what is going on in the photos, and then ask them to discuss what they think a BioBlitz is. True or false. (While You Watch) Go through the sentences on Page 36 in While You Watch with students and make sure they understand the meanings. Play the video for students to watch and decide if the following statements are true (T) or false (F). Share the answers with the whole class, and if necessary, play the video again for students to check the answers.学生活动 Discuss in groups and describe what is going on in the photos. Besides, try to guess what a BioBlitz is based on the discussion. Watch the video and complete the activity True or false or page 36. Check the answers and watch the video again to figure out the answers.设计意图: 让学生使用提示的词汇描述六幅图片的内容,并讨论什么是BioBlitz,有利于激活学生的思维,接着通过观看视频,验证信息的正确性,以此提高学生获取信息的能力。环节三:Discussion 教师活动 Ask students to work in groups and discuss the following questions. (After You Watch) This BioBlitz was conducted in the middle of a large city. Do you think there is as much biodiversity in your city or town Why or why not Are there any parks in your city or town where you can find many different kinds of plants and animals What activities can you do there 学生活动 Discuss the two following questions in groups and share their own opinions with the whole class. Suggested answers: I think there is a lot of biodiversity in my town, because there are mountains, a lake, and plenty of parks and green space. (2) Behind my home there is a large park which is filled with trees. There are all sorts of plants and insects there, but not so many other animals.
