if (如果)引导的条件状语从句
位置
if 引导的条件状语从句可位于主句之前,此时用逗号与主句隔开,也可位于主句之后,此时不用逗号与主句隔开。
If l call him, he will help me. = He will help me if I call him.
如果我给他打电话,他会帮我的。
时态运用
①如果主句用一般将来时,if 引导的条件状语从句要用一般现在时表示将来,即“主将从现”。
If you invite me, I will go.
②如果主句是祈使句或含有情态动词,if 从应用一般现在时
Work hard if you want to get good grades.
If you get up early, you can catch the first bus.
条件状语从句的转换
①if引导的条件状语从句可转换为“祈使 + and/or + 陈述 (一般将来时)”
If you study hard, you'll get good grades. = Study hard and you'll get good grades.
②if引导的条件状语从句可转换为 with 或 without引出的介词短语
If there's no air, animals will die. = Animals will die without air.
should的用法
should 为情态动词,意为“应该,应当”后接动词原形,无人称、数和时态的变化。
①表示提出意见或建议:You should drink lots of water.
②表示义务、责任:We should study hard.
③表示命令责备或要求:You shouldn't be so careless.
④表示推测或可能性:He should be a teacher.
should的基本句式
肯定句:主语 +should +动词原形+其他
否定句:主语 +shouldn't+动词原形+其他
一般疑问句:Should+主语+动词原形 +其他
We should look after the old well. 我们应该好好照顾老人。
You shouldn't stay up late every day. 你不应该每天都熬夜。
Should we go shopping today 今天我们应该去购物吗
辨析:else与other
两者都表示“其他的”,但用法不同
else:副词;修饰疑问代词疑问副词或不定代词;位于所修饰词之后
other:形容词;修饰名词;位于名词之前
