By means of KWL, the guidance of a question chain, the support of a visual timeline, and horizontal and vertical connections, students are assisted in profoundly understanding the history of Chinese character development and the value of the Chinese writing system, appreciating the charm of Chinese characters as an outstanding part of traditional Chinese culture, and expressing their love and respect for Chinese characters.
教材分析 What: This article delves into the development history of the Chinese writing system and its significant positive influence on the inheritance of Chinese civilization over thousands of years. It starts by stating that one of the key reasons for the continuous survival of Chinese civilization is the evolution and inheritance of the writing system. Then it outlines the evolution of Chinese characters. They began as pictographs, matured in the Shang Dynasty, diversified during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, and were unified by Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Finally, the author elaborates on its significance in four aspects: linking the past and present of the Chinese nation, connecting people of all ethnic groups in different regions of China, binding language and art, and bridging China and the world. How: This is an expository essay with a general-to-specific structure. The title contains two main parts: the text theme and the function of "connecting the past and present". The first paragraph directly points out that the writing system's development and inheritance contribute to the continuity of Chinese civilization. The second to fourth paragraphs chronologically describe the transformation of Chinese characters from ancient times through different dynasties and their characteristics. Here, different tenses and time markers are used for connection and transition. The fifth and sixth paragraphs explain the importance of the writing system by examples. There are two narrative threads. The explicit one is the development history of the writing system, and the implicit one echoes the "connecting" in the title. The target students of this class are high school freshmen. They have initially acquired the capabilities of posing and resolving questions, along with the skills of comprehending and extracting information. They also have a strong interest in learning English. Before the class, the teacher used the "Wenjuanxing" mini-program to investigate students' knowledge of Chinese characters, their command of new words in this lesson, the application of reading skills, and their preferred teaching methods. Based on the data analysis generated by the backstage, the teacher intuitively understood the learning situation and grasped the starting point of students' learning. Meanwhile, according to the completion of students' learning guidance sheets, the teaching plan was adjusted and improved, accurately positioned, and teaching was promoted by learning. 主要特色与 创新之处 To design classroom activities that achieve the integration of teaching, learning, and assessment, it is essential to clarify the logic underlying the teaching system. Questions such as "Why do we teach ", "The principles of learning", "The process of teaching and learning", and "How well do students learn " need to be addressed. For this purpose, I first delved deeply into the text, analyzed it, formulated reasonable teaching objectives, and determined the key points. After fully understanding the learning situation and the cognitive characteristics of high school freshmen through questionnaires, and centering around the teaching objectives, I designed a number of relevant and practical learning activities using related AI tools. These activities range from learning and understanding, to application and practice, and finally to transfer and innovation, guiding students to master the linguistic and cultural knowledge related to the development and cultural value of the Chinese writing system, enhancing their understanding and identification with traditional Chinese culture, and strengthening their cultural confidence.
存在的疑惑 During the design process of teaching activities, it is crucial to arrange appropriate activities to realize the three levels of the concept of English learning activities and the achievement points of core competencies. How to fully explore the triggers, growth points, and support points of critical thinking, so that students' thinking can be ignited, gradually developed, and deepened. These issues are the key and difficult points in teaching design and implementation. I still need to continuously strengthen theoretical learning and research, and constantly explore and reflect in teaching practice. Only in this way can the cultivation of English core competencies be implemented and the effectiveness of the classroom be continuously improved to form my own unique teaching style and charm.
