1. 当way后面的从句缺少状语时,用that/in which引导;用that引导时,that 可以省略。

way 后接定语从句的用法
2. 当way后面的从句缺少主语或宾语时,关系词用that/which(作宾语时关系词可省略,作主语时不可省略)。
The way (that/which) he told us was quite effective.
他告诉我们的那个方法很有效。(关系词在从句中作宾语)
The way that/which was thought up by him was similar to Tom's.

with 复合结构
with 复合结构, 即"with+宾语+宾补"结构,在句中通常作状语,表示伴随、方式、原因或条件等,也可作定语。宾语可由名词或代词充当。

(1) with+宾语+现在分词(表示主动或动作正在进行)
With so many people staring at her,she felt very nervous.
这么多人盯着她看,她感到很紧张。
(2) with+宾语+过去分词(表示被动或动作已完成)
John received an invitation to dinner, and with his work finished, he gladly accepted it.
约翰收到了一个晚宴邀请,因为他的工作做完了,他欣然接受了。
(3) with+宾语+动词不定式(表示动作尚未进行,通常用主动形式表示被动含义)
With so many essays to write ,she won't have time to go shopping this morning.
有那么多文章要写,她今天上午不会有时间去购物了。
So what is it that inspires us to invent things
强调句型
强调句的基本结构:It is/was+被强调部分+that/who+句子其他部分.
可以强调句子的主语、宾语、状语等,不能强调谓语;
构成强调句的It本身没有词义,但不能用其他词代替;
被强调部分指人时用that/who均可,其他情况通常用that。
被强调部分无论是单数还是复数,It后的be动词均用单数形式,即用is或was。用is 还是 was 要根据原句的时态来确定。
强调句型
(1) 特殊疑问句式:特殊疑问词(被强调部分)+is/wasit+that+句子其他部分
What was it that prevented him from coming in time 是什么使得他没及时到达
(2) 一般疑问句式:Is/Was it+被强调部分+that/who+句子其他部分
Was it because Jack came late for school that Mr Smith got angry
史密斯先生生气是因为杰克上学迟到了吗
(3) not...until...结构的强调句型:It is/was not until ...that...+句子其他部分.
Bach died in 1750, but it was not until the early 19th century that his musical gift was fully recognised.
巴赫于 1750 年去世,但直到19 世纪初他的音乐天赋才完全得到认可。
