To focus on writing problems of contents and languages, such as the lack of details about ideas, poor word choices and boring sentences.

To improve students’ oral and writing abilities.

To train and develop students’ interests in writing.
Ⅲ. Teaching procedures
Step1. Warming-up
1. Brainstorm: How many adjective words we often use to describe one’s personalities can you remember?
2. Free-talk: Who is the hero in your heart? Why?
Step2. Pre-task
1. How can we write an excellent composition? Show students the evaluation standards.
2. Appreciate a full-mark composition. Encourage students to find out the highlights.
Step3. Task-cycle
1. Watch a news report about Liu Shenglan, answer the following questions.
2. Show students more information; ask them to write a piece.
Step4. Post-task
1. Appreciate student’s own pieces, ask them to show their compositions and tell the others
where the highlights are in his/her piece.
2. Ask some students to come to the Blackboard to help their classmate correct his/her composition.
Step5. Summary
Ask students what they have learnt, ask them show their progress.
