The Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, is one of China’s four major traditional festivals. It originated from (起源于) the commemoration of the ancient poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in the river in 278 BC. The festival is marked by various customs, including the dragon boat race and eating zongzi. These activities not only honor Qu Yuan’s patriotism (爱国精神) but also symbolize the drive to expel evil (驱除邪恶) and bring good health and fortune to families. Falling on the 15th day of the 8th month according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the greatest festivals in China after the Chinese New Year. It takes its name from the fact that it is always celebrated in the middle of the autumn season.
Generally speaking, the festival is to commemorate (纪念) Chang’e, who flew to the moon.
Family members get together to offer sacrifices (祭品) to the moon, thank the bright full moon, eat moon cakes (月饼) and express strong wishes to family members and friends who live far away on the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Moon cakes are the special food of the Mid-Autumn Festival. On that day, people sacrifice moon cakes to the moon as an offering and eat them for celebration. Moon cakes come in different tastes according to different areas. The moon cakes are round, symbolizing the reunion of a family. Nowadays, people present moon cakes to relatives and friends to show that they wish them a long and happy life.

【答案】
My favourite traditional festival is the Dragon Boat Festival.
It falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month every year. On that day, people do lots of interesting celebrations. I like the dragon boat race best. And eating zongzi is also an important thing on the Dragon Boat Festival.
The reason why I love the festival is not only the enjoyment it brings but also the deep meaning behind it. The festival is celebrated to remember Qu Yuan, a great poet and patriot. Celebrating the day also represents Chinese people's love for their country.
