We all know Journey to the West, right Katherine Olson from the US knows it, too. She even borrowed something from the famous Chinese classic. That’s Katherine’s Journey to the East. It’s not a book, but an online record of her bike tours in China.
Katherine’s connection with China started when she was an undergraduate (本科生) in her country. Influenced by the Chinese students at her lab, she expressed interest in learning Chinese. In 2016, she came to China for the first time to do a project in Shandong Province. Later she

Can you imagine taking a flying taxi to wherever you want to go Air taxis are taking a big step forward. In June, a company called Joby Aviation was allowed to test their new air taxi. Joby has been making and testing flying taxis since 2017.
Compared with helicopters (直升机), Joby says, their taxis are much quieter and cheaper. The air taxi will be flown by a pilot, and can carry four other passengers. It can fly as fast as 320 kilometers per hour and can go around 160 kilometers at a time.
By 2025, Joby hopes to start carrying passengers for money. The company expects to charge (收费) about $3 a mile at first. But they will bring the price down to less than $1 a mile later. Joby also expects their air taxis to provide a ride-sharing service in the air. Just like ordering a car, people can use an app on the phone to order an air taxi to pick them up.
But there’s still a lot to do before air taxis become common. Governments need to make rules about where, when and how these taxis can fly. And some people have concerns about them. The taxis may be quieter than helicopters, but they may still add noise and traffic to the skies. Some people think that only rich people can afford (承担得起) to use the special taxis.
Still, it seems probable that air taxis will be part of the future travel.

Dear Alice,
I’m sorry to hear that something about the scary movie makes your imagination run wild, giving you a sense of fear. Don’t worry. I’d like to share some ways of overcoming fear.
As far as I know, being in the dark after a scary movie will add to the fearful mood. So you’d better turn the night light on at night, which may help you feel safer. What’s more, doing something fun will be helpful as well. Call your friends to see if they want to hang out or have a picnic with you. Whatever activities you choose should be enjoyable and relaxing. They can help you forget those things that once scared you. Besides, use laughter to clear out your fearful feeling. Just watch some movies or read some stories that make you laugh. My personal experience has proved it to be useful.
Please follow these tips. It won’t be long before the scary movie is finally out of your head.
Yours,
Li Hua
