第一节
参考例文:
Dear George,
Here is some exciting news to share with you. With the intention of enriching our school
life, last week, our school introduced a new course called “Labor Experience”, which is aimed to
provide students with hands-on experience in various types of work.
We launched a campaign, Beautiful Campus, where students did some cleaning and planted
colorful flowers. Then a labor base was set up for students to experience growing, picking and
harvesting. Through these activities, we learned teamwork and improved problem-solving competence.
I hold the belief that it’s a unique and valuable experience. Hereby I sincerely invite you and
your participation will be highly appreciated.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
参考例文:
When we finished talking, I went to my briefcase and pulled out the first gold medal I won
and put it around his neck. Then I told him that he was more of a winner and knew more about
success and overcoming obstacles than I ever would. Having looked at the medal for a while, he
took it off and handed it back to me. He said in a whisper, “you must have trained hard and you
won your own medal. Only after hard work can a person win success. I know it. I will spare no
effort to train and compete to win my own medal.Do believe me.”
Last summer I received a letter from Matthew saying how he had got his own paralympic(残

medal that led him to success. Disabled as he was, he never abandoned himself. On the contrary, he
grasped every minute to learn and train, even when others finished training and went home. Great
efforts paid off in the end. He was given an opportunity to represent his country to compete in the
Paris Summer Paralympics and won his own medal. On reading his letter, I am convinced that what
a successful man needs is a strong mind.

M: How nice that you’re going to have a goodbye dinner for her! Where will you have it
W: That’s the problem. My boss suggested that we go to the Italian restaurant near the office. But
Mary loves Mexican food. I think it would be nicer if we took her to her favorite Mexican
place.
M: I agree. You should take her somewhere that she will enjoy.
W: The only problem is that the restaurant is far from my office. Do you know Juan’s Place
M: Of course. It’s near your house. Maybe you could have the dinner after work on Friday. That
way, people could drive over to the restaurant together.
W: True. But traffic is always so awful on Fridays. It will take them at least forty-five minutes to
get there.
M: Well, then why don’t you try to find a Mexican restaurant closer to your office
W: That’s a great idea.
