Benefits of Information Technology
Dear fellow students,
It’s my great honor to be here to talk about the benefits of information technology.
First, it greatly improves communication. We can easily keep in touch with people all over the
world through various tools like smartphones and social media.Second, it enriches education.
Online learning platforms provide us with vast educational resources, enabling us to study at our
own pace.Third, it improves healthcare. Telemedicine enables patients who live in a remote area to
consult doctors remotely, saving time and effort. Medical records can be digitized and shared easily
among healthcare providers, improving the efficiency of diagnosis and treatment.
In conclusion, information technology has brought us many advantages. Let’s make good use
of it.
Thank you!

A few weeks later, when I almost forgot about the drama show tryout, there came the news. I
had been given a role in the play! It wasn’t a leading one, but it was a significant part that I was
more than happy to take on. I was filled with excitement and a sense of accomplishment, knowing
all my hard work had paid off.It was also my teacher’s encouragement that made me where I am
today, and I was supposed to share my enjoyment with him.
I went to my teacher’s office after the casting announcement. Mr.Thompson was waiting for
me. “congratulations!”my teacher nodded when seeing me,his eyes twinkled with pride. “I know
you can,and you earned this! But it is just a beginning. Keep going and you will be rewarded!” “I

wouldn’t have done it without you.” I said and thanked Mr.Thompson sincerely for believing in me
and pushing me to step out of my comfort zone. His words of encouragement stayed with me long
after I left his office ,giving me confidence for the upcoming performance.
A
根据 Keens Steakhouse TEL (212) 947-3636部分中的“It is renowned for its
mouthwatering steaks, cooked to perfection.”
根据 Momofuku Noodle Bar 部分中的“The casual and lively atmosphere
makes it a great spot for a quick and delicious meal.”
A 选项 Elegant(优雅的)B 选项 Old-world
(复古的)D 选项 Energetic(充满活力的)。
(Momofuku Noodle
(Shake Shack)
故选 A。
根据第四段中的“The training was grueling. There were days when he wanted
to give up, especially when he faced challenges like injuries and poor race results.”
根据第六段中的“The journey hasn't been easy, but every step has been worth
it. I never thought I could do something like this, but here I am,” John says.
根据第七段中的“He is planning to participate in an international triathlon
event next year and hopes to encourage others to take up a healthy lifestyle.”
根据第一段中的“The Twelve Muqam, which is known as the mother of
Uyghur music, is a musical form that consists of sung poetry, stories and music.”
paintings。故选 A。
第三段中提到“the songs show a wide range of styles such as poetry, proverbs,
folk narrative, and popular topics such as the praise of love and reflection on life, showing the
history and present-day life of the Uyghur society.
A 选项中提到只在新疆流行与文中“ It can be found in 19 countries and regions
in Central, South, and West Asia, and North Africa, and along the ancient Silk Road running
across the autonomous region.”不符;B 选项与文中“The songs differ in rhyme and meter and
are performed solo as well as in groups.”不符;C 选项与文中“And folk artists are making an
effort to pass on this ancient art performance with energy.”不符。故选 D。
故选 A。
D
根据第四段中的“The researchers used light pulse measurement and made
sure that there is still electron transfer in chloroplasts. Electron transfer is an important part in
photosynthesis. The confirmation of this phenomenon shows that the chloroplasts put into
hamsters are still doing photosynthesis.
根据第五段“After two days, they found that the cells with chloroplasts grew
bigger. This directly proves that the photosynthesis of chloroplasts really makes nutrients, and
these nutrients make cells grow faster.”(两天后,他们发现带有叶绿体的细胞长得更大。
根据最后一段“This team is continuing to study how to create 'planar

Text 10
M: Every October, farmers across the US harvest millions of pumpkins. Some are selected to win
contests like the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off held annually in Half
Moon Bay, California. Celebrating its 45th year in 2018, the contest has always been extremely
popular with pumpkin growers. However, it has become even more so since supermarket chain
Safeway, which sponsors the event, increased the maximum prize to $30,000 in 2015. To
qualify for this world record prize, competitors have to produce a world record pumpkin. In
2018, that meant one heavier than the huge 2,624-pound pumpkin, which broke the previous
world record at the Giant Pumpkin European Championship in 2016. If the heaviest pumpkin
weighs less, the owner receives $7 per pound, which, given the size of the gourds
物), adds up to thousands of dollars in cash.
The event, which took place on October 8th, 2018, attracted more than 20 huge pumpkins.
Though 12 came in at more than 1,000 pounds each, it was three-time winner Steven Daletas
who took home the top prize of $15,190.
