Step 4 Discussion BP54
T: What do you expect to learn from university life
Sample answer:
I expect that my university life will be very different from my high school life. I will be challenged intellectually in many subjects, some of which will be totally new to me. However, I am looking forward to increasing my knowledge, so I accept any challenges that I face. Besides, I’m sure I’ll meet like-minded students from all over the country and perhaps even some foreign students too. Becoming friends with them would widen my world view. I suppose I would also join a few academic and sport clubs to be social and get some exercise because I think having a social life is very important too.

Step 5 Condensing the journal entry AP54
T works together with the students to condense the text.
Sample answer 1:
During the four years of university life, I had some memorable experiences. When I first arrived at the university, I felt nervous, but curious about all I could see. I wondered what university life would be like. I remembered my first assignment because it didn’t go very well, but it taught me a good lesson about how to approach my studies in future. The first group project I worked on was enjoyable, and the experience helped me understand the importance of working with others. Visiting my favourite professor’s office for the first time made a lasting impression. I remembered my professor’s appearance and also my feelings about the professor. My graduation ceremony provided a final memorable experience for me and my proud parents.
