第一篇
Dear Tom,
I hope this email finds you well. Thank you so much for your kind congratulations. It really made my day.
The story I told was about the Monkey King. This legendary figure from Chinese mythology is known for his incredible strength, wit, and rebellious spirit. He accompanied the Tang Monk on a journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. Along the way, he encountered numerous demons and monsters but always managed to outsmart them with his clever tricks. I focused on the episode where he single-handedly defeated the Bull Demon King, using his magical powers and fearless courage. It was a story full of action and adventure.
As for the activity, it was an amazing journey. I got to practice my English in a practical and meaningful way. It also made me realize how rich and fascinating our Chinese stories are. I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I saw the audience's reactions. There were moments of nervousness, but I overcame them with the support of my teachers and friends. This experience has definitely boosted my confidence and motivated me to learn more about both English and Chinese culture.
Thank you again. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二篇
Dear Tom,
I trust you're doing fine. I'm extremely grateful for your congratulations. It means the world to me.
I shared the story of The Butterfly Lovers, a tragic love story in Chinese folklore. Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, two young scholars, fell deeply in love while studying together. However, due to the feudal system, their love was doomed. Zhu Yingtai was forced to marry another man, but on her wedding day, she passed by Liang Shanbo's grave and the two transformed into butterflies, flying away together. In my speech, I tried to convey the deep emotions and the social background of that era.
Taking part in this contest was a valuable learning experience. It improved my public speaking skills and my ability to express complex ideas in English. I also learned a lot about the importance of cultural heritage. It was not easy to condense such a profound story into a short speech, but it was a challenge I enjoyed. This event has given me a new perspective on how to share our culture with the world.
Thanks again for your interest. I can't wait to hear from you.
Yours,
Li Hua
第三篇
Dear Tom,
Hi there! I hope you're having a great time. Thank you for your warm congratulations.
The story I selected was about the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. It's a beautiful love story that has been passed down for generations. The Cowherd, a poor but kind-hearted man, fell in love with the Weaver Girl, a fairy from heaven. They got married and lived a happy life until the Queen Mother of the West separated them with the Milky Way. But once a year, on the Qixi Festival, magpies would form a bridge to reunite them. I described their daily life and the heart-breaking moment of separation in my speech.
This activity was a turning point for me. I became more proficient in English and more passionate about Chinese culture. I had to research a lot to understand the story better and present it in an engaging way. The whole process was filled with difficulties, but I learned and grew from them. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
Thank you again. I'm looking forward to sharing more with you.
Yours,
Li Hua

Dear Tom,
I hope this email finds you well.
Having received your congratulations on my winning first prize in the activity, Chinese Stories Retold in English, I’m writing to express my heartfelt thanks for your concern and introduce the story —Chinese Silk.
Dating back to the Western Zhou period, Chinese silk boasts a long history of over 3, 000 years. Legend has it that Leizu, the wife of the Yellow Emperor, discovered the silk-making process. There was an ancient trade and communication route called “The Silk Road”, promoting the exchange of ideas and goods between China and other civilizations.
The activity has not only deepened my understanding of Chinese culture, but also strengthened my courage to speak English. I hope you can come to China to experience our culture.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Yours,
Li Hua
