The secretary told me that Mr. Harmsworth would see me.
I felt very nervous when I went into his office.
He did not look up from his desk when I entered.
After I had sat down, he said that business was very bad.
He told me that the firm could not afford to pay such large salaries.
Twenty people had already left.
I knew that my turn had come.
'Mr. Harmsworth,' I said in a weak voice.
'Don't interrupt,' he said.
Then he smiled and told me I would receive an extra thousand pounds a year!

如此:such & so
such后面主要是修饰名词。即:such+a/an+adj.+n.或a/an+such+adj.+n.。如果名词是不可数名词或复数名词,则不可以用不定冠词a或an。如:
so后面只能跟形容词或副词。so+adj.或adv.不过,so后面也可以跟名词,但该名词必须是单数可数名词。用法为:so+形容词+a或an+单数可数名词。

最灵活的是more,可以放数词和名词之间,甚至可以放在整个名词的后面;

引述别人话语的两种方式:
一是原封不动地引用原话,把它放在括号内

二是用自己的话加以转述, 这叫间接引语.
