Step 1 Brainstorming
T asks Ss to brainstorm some medical achievements Chinese people have achieved.
What can you think of when talking about the Chinese medical achievements
Have you ever experienced acupuncture What do you know about it
【设计意图：结合本单元前面的内容，让学生头脑风暴一些中国现有的医学成就，既回顾之前学过的知识，也顺利引出本节课的内容——针灸。】
Step 2 Predicting
T asks Ss to read the title of the article and guess what will be talked about in the article.
What aspects will be talked about in the article
What magic has acupuncture brought to us
【设计意图：学生根据标题猜测文本可能会出现的内容，尤其预测一下针灸的神奇之处有哪些，为学生接下来的阅读做好铺垫。】
Step 3 Global reading
T asks Ss to scan the article and get the main idea of each paragraph.

It was developed long ago, as early as 2,000 BCE.
Acupuncture dates back to the Stone Age, when stone tools called bian were used to press areas of the body.
