Maple syrup comes from the maple tree and around 70% of the maple syrup in the world comes from Canada. And 90% of that comes from Quebec, in the east of the country.
First, sap(汁液) is collected from the maple trees. A tap
is put into the tree to collect the sap. The bucket in the picture is

As the sap boils, it becomes thicker and sweeter. About 40 kilos of sap makes about one kilo of syrup. Once the syrup is ready, it is put into bottles or cans and sent to shops and businesses.
You can use maple syrup in many different ways. You can put it on pancakes, ice cream or oatmeal. It tastes great on salad with a little lemon juice. You can also cook with maple syrup. You can put it on vegetables, pork or chicken before you cook them. Some people like to use it in tea and coffee instead of sugar. In fact, maple syrup is a little healthier than sugar. 一、阅读理解
“Military style” travel(特种兵式旅游) has become the latest fashion among Chinese college students, who spend as little money as possible to travel to as many places as they can during the weekend, hardly taking a rest or even sleeping.
To save money, they usually take a normal speed train on a Friday night. And they arrive at the destination (目的地) city on Saturday morning, travel as many places as possible in the city, sleep at a 24 hour restaurant for a few hours on Saturday, then repeat the same busy schedule (日程安排) on Sunday before returning to their university in time for classes on Monday morning. Videos of them taking such trips have been very popular, with many people praising them for their energy and high ability to implement their plans. Others, however, question whether such a busy schedule is healthy.
Hu Die, a student at Inner Mongolia University of Technology, is one such traveler. She put together a 10 day holiday during the recent May Day holiday period and traveled to six cities. “We do not think we are doing something ‘crazy’or ‘unbelievable’. We are young and energetic enough to experience such a busy travel schedule,” she said. “Moreover, when you travel with your friends, you are happy, and you do not feel tired.”

Recently, a junior high school sent several students back home because they broke the school uniform rules. Should students wear school uniforms? The Young World magazine held a discussion on this topic.
Kennedy:The school uniform is very important, because it always reminds me that I am supposed to go out of my way to study hard. It also helps prevent school bullying(欺凌). If everyone wears the same clothes, it is impossible to laugh at other people’s clothing.
Manson:The uniform has to be earned(获得) through efforts. Students should start school with no uniforms. As they make progress at school, they start wearing it. I always think children need to be proud of their school. The uniform is important for that. So, make students earn it! If they don’t perform well, they should not be allowed to get one.
Moorhead:In my opinion, kids don’t have to wear uniforms. There should be more choices open to kids in education. They ought to (应该) develop their own independence and just be themselves. Their personalities (个性) would be expressed through their own clothes at school. And different dress could be one way of showing their understanding of beauty. Besides, they make the school lively and colorful.
