Step 1 Free talk
T asks Ss to have a free talk about art.

Step 2 Listening
1. Pre-listening
T asks Ss to read the questions in part A1 carefully and underline the key words before watching the TV programme. And then T leads Ss to guess what answers would be given according to the context in part A2. In addition to that, T leads Ss to pay attention to the listening strategy appeared in Tip.
T: Boys and girls, there is a TV programme about the use of unusual materials in art. Please read the questions of part A1 on page 36 and underline the key words to prepare for your listening. And then guess what type of word would be filled in the table of part A2.
Identifying examples The speaker often uses examples to help the audience understand the main idea better as well as to present the topic in a more interesting way. When you listen, pay attention to the expressions that signal examples, e.g.for example,for instance, such as.

2. While-listening
(1) T asks Ss to watch the TV programme and answer the four questions in part A1 on page 36. T: Now, please watch the TV programme and answer the questions.
(2) T asks Ss to watch the TV programme again and complete the notes in part A2 on page 36.
T: Since you have got some basic information about the use of unusual materials in art, now it’s time to find out more detailed information, especially the unusual art materials.
