专题06阅读理解之记叙文20篇
One day, Zhou Yu ordered Zhuge Liang to make 100,000 arrows in ten days. Zhou Yu thought it was impossible, but Zhuge Liang said, “Give me three days.” Then he asked Lu Su to lend him 20 boats, and the soldiers put some scarecrows in line on the boats. He asked Lu Su not to tell Zhou Yu what was happening.
When Lu Su came again to see Zhuge Liang, he found nothing unusual. Nothing happened on the second day, either. In the small hours of the third day, Zhuge Liang invited Lu Su for a boat ride. The 20 boats were tied together with strong ropes. Zhuge’s boats went towards the camp of Cao Cao. The river was covered with thick mist (雾) all over. People could not see each other on the river. When Zhuge’s boats got close to the Cao camp before dawn (黎明), Zhuge Liang ordered his soldiers to shout and beat drums heavily. But Zhuge and Lu Su only sat inside one boat drinking wine to enjoy themselves.
As soon as the Cao camp heard the shouting and drum beating, they thought it was a surprise attack (攻击) by the Zhou Yu camp. Since they could see nobody on the river, they had to order 3,000 soldiers to shoot arrows to stop the attack. The front of the scarecrows was quickly full of arrows. After a while, Zhuge Liang had his boats turned around to get the other side of the scarecrows to face the Cao camp. When both sides were full of arrows, the day broke. Zhuge Liang ordered his soldiers to return. The soldiers shouted in excitement, “Thank you, Cao Cao, for your arrows.” After they got back to their camp, they collected more than 100,000 arrows in total from the scarecrows.

One morning, as Mary was skipping(蹦跳)slowly along the long path, she heard the sound of music. She was very curious and went to find out.
A boy was sitting under a tree. He was playing music. He had blue eyes and red cheeks. A squirrel and two rabbits were watching him and listening to the music. When he saw Mary, he said, “I’m Dickon. I know who you are. You are Miss Mary.”
He took out a package.
“Here are the garden tools. I bought some packets of seeds, too.”
“If you like,” Dickon said, “I can plant them for you. Where’s your garden ”
“Can you keep a secret ” she said.
“I keep secrets all the time,” Dickon laughed.
“I stole a garden,” Mary said quickly. “Nobody wants it. Perhaps everything is dead in it already. I don’t know.”
She began to cry.
“Where is it asked Dickon.”
“Come with me,” she said.
She took him along the path to the wall with the ivy(常春藤)on it. Then she unlocked the door and they went in together.
“Here it is,” she said. “It’s a secret garden.”
Dickon’s blue eyes opened wide in surprise as he looked at the garden.
“It’s very pretty,” he whispered. “It’s like being in a dream. In the spring there are going to be lots of birds’ nests here.”
“Are the roses alive or dead ” Mary asked him.
He went up to an old tree and pointed at the branch(树枝). It was dry and grey but there was a small green bit on it.
“This bit’s alive,” he explained. “But there’s a lot of old wood that is dead. We must cut it off. There are going to be lots of roses here this summer.”
They went from bush to bush and from tree to tree. He was very strong and clever with his knife. He knew how to cut off the dry and dead wood.
“There’s a lot of work to do here,” he said.
“Can you come again and help me ” Mary asked him. “Please, Dickon!”
“Yes, every day if you like,” he answered.

Whether it be a person, an animal, or even an insect, a mother’s instincts (本能) are never wrong. This idea rings true for a mother cat who acted fast and sought out help when her kittens were in trouble. This mother cat’s quick thinking may have just saved her babies.
In the urban district of Izmir in western Turkey, a cat walked into a regular hospital holding a kitten in her mouth. As the mother cat moved through the hospital, people were surprised to see such a sight, but let her pass. The mother cat asked for help, crying for a long time. She was familiar to the hospital staff, who had been leaving her food and water outside, but they didn’t realize that she had given birth to kittens.
The mother cat was worried about her young because they weren’t able to open their eyes. After the doctors looked at the kittens, they noticed that they were suffering from eye infections. One of the doctors recalls, “We contacted vets and gave medicine as described. When the kittens opened their eyes a short time later, we were excited.” Later, they were sent to an animal hospital for further care. The cats are now up for adoption and will hopefully find loving forever homes.
When it comes to mother cats and kittens, kittens completely depend on mothers for the first few months of their lives. Because they are blind and almost deaf until about two or three weeks old, the mother cat must protect them from any possible danger. Without the mother cat’s help, the kittens may not survive.
As shown by the mother cat in Turkey, a mother’s love and protection knows no bounds. Whether the mom is a human or a cat, mothers will always look out for their babies and make sure they are safe and healthy.

A.A cat has nine lives B.Any help means a lot
C.Mother cat is so brave D.Mother’s love is boundless
The moment that Jiang Mengnan received the Touching China Person of the Year Award for 2021, she said she most wanted to express her thanks to her parents. Born in 1992 in Hunan Province, Jiang’s world has been silent since she was 6 months old when medicine damaged her hearing. So, Jiang’s parents, both middle school teachers, taught her to learn to speak and understand lip reading.
Jiang put her hands on the throats of her parents when they talked and felt the vibration (震动) of the vocal cords to learn to speak. When reading Pinyin, she carefully looked at the lips of other people’s pronunciations (发音) to know the formation of each syllable. Mastering a single word can take at least 1,000 tries for Jiang, and different people’s mouth movements added difficulty to her social communication when it came to lip reading.
Through lip reading and self-study, she was able to keep up with learning and was accepted by Jilin University School of Pharmacy (药剂学) with a high score of 615 on the college entrance examination. In 2018, she was accepted as a PhD at Tsinghua University’s School of Life Sciences. Jiang’s story is one of victory over difficulties. Gever Tulley is a computer scientist from California. In 2005, he started a summer programme for children called Tinkering School. The idea was that children can learn important skills for life by building things together. Gever Tulley and his team help the children to think big and create plans for new things they want to build. Children have made fantastic things since the school started. They have built a rollercoaster. They have made a rope bridge from plastic shopping bags. They have made tree houses, wooden motorbikes and boats.
At Tinkering School, children get all kinds of materials like wood, metal, plastic, nails and ropes. They get lots of real tools too, such as knives, hammers, screwdrivers and power drills. Some children have cut themselves when using a knife, or hurt their fingers when using a hammer. Tinkering School has been around for many years now, but nobody has ever had a serious injury in all those years. This is because there are strict health and safety rules they must follow. The children always learn how to use the tools safely and they must wear the right clothing and protection at all times.
Gever Tulley’s ideas have worked very well. A lot of children have gone to his summer schools over the years. In 2011, Gever Tulley decided to create a “real” school, called Brightworks, in San Francisco. The school is very small—it only has 20 students aged 6 to 13. Brightworks is based on the same principles (理念) as Tinkering School.
Since it started, Brightworks has been written about a lot. Most of those articles have been very positive. They have praised (表扬) the quality of the school. They have found the children are more active than at many other schools. But there have also been critical (批评的) voices. Some people have said that children are not learning enough at Brightworks. They feel that students and teachers are just “playing around” all the time.
The students at Brightworks seem to love their school. We spoke to 12-year-old Tina Cooper. She has been a student at the school since last October. “Since I started here, I’ve never sat in a ‘normal’ class with a teacher.” she told us. “But it’s been a very exciting experience. “__________” I said, stroking(轻抚) him. “Not looking so good today.”

So I knocked on the door of the flat. I felt I had to say something. If this was their pet, it was no way to treat him. He needed something to eat and drink — and maybe even some medical attention.
A guy appeared at the door. He looked like he’d been sleeping even though it was the middle of the afternoon.
“Sorry to bother you, mate. Is this your cat ” I asked him.
For a second he looked at me as if I was slightly mad(发疯的).

“Has he Must have smelled cooking or something. Well, as I say, nothing to do with me.”
He then closed the door heavily.

“What happened ” Roberta asked him.
“I’m Jim. I was walking through the tunnel when I tripped(绊倒). I think I’ve broken my leg.” “The 11:15 train is due(到期)soon,” Peter said. “We must get you out of here.”
“I’ve been here for two hours,” the boy said. “I was on my way to the station to catch the train. It’s quicker through the tunnel than along the road.”

Peter said. “We’ve got to get you out.” Then Peter and Phyllis helped Jim up. It was a difficult journey, but the children got there before the 11:15 train did. Finally, a signalman helped them and took Jim to Peter’s home.
Mother called for a doctor and helped Jim rest. The doctor said Jim needed to stay in bed for at least a month. Mother wrote a letter to Jim’s grandfather. She gave the letter to the doctor, who promised to post it.

Trick 1: Cheese Touch
When I got to school today, everybody was acting all strange around me, and at first I didn’t know what was up. Then I remembered: I still had the Cheese Touch from last year. I got the Cheese Touch in the last week of school, and over the summer I forgot about it.
The problem with the Cheese Touch is that you’ve got it until you can pass it on to someone else. But nobody would even like to get close to me and talk to me. Every time they saw me, they screamed “Ah~ Greg Heffley is coming!” I knew the Cheese Touch would stick with me for the whole school year. Luckily, a new kid named Jeremy Pindle was in the classroom, so I passed the Cheese Touch to him.
Trick 2: The First Letter
My first class was Maths, and the teacher put me right next to Alex Aruda, the cleverest kid in the whole class. If the kids’ last names start with the first few letters of the alphabet, the teacher will call them most, and that’s why they end up being the cleverest. Some people think that’s not true, but I can prove it. You see the picture on the left Alex Aruda is a top student, while Christoper Ziegel is different.
I can only think of one kid. He broke the last-name rule, and that’s Peter Uteger. Peter was the cleverest kid in the class all the way up until the fifth grade.
When we kept saying his first letter out loud, it sounded funny. This gave Peter a difficult time. These days, Peter doesn’t put up his hand at all, and he’s pretty much a C student. I feel a little bad about the whole P.U. thing and what happened to Peter.

A.Peter Uteger broke the class rule in the fifth grade.
B.The kids in the class don’t play with Jeremy Pindle now.
C.Christoper Ziegel is among the cleverest kids in the class.
A mother held her new baby and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she held him, she sang:
I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always.
As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.
The little boy grew. He grew until he was nine years old. And he never wanted to come in for dinner, he never wanted to take a bath, and when grandma visited, he always said bad words. Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo!
The boy grew. He grew until he was a teenager. He had strange friends and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music. Sometimes the mother felt like she was in a zoo!
That teenager grew. He grew until he was a grown-up man. He left home and got a house across town.
Well, that mother, she got older. She got older and older and older. One day she called up her son and said, “You’d better come to see me because I’m very old and sick.”
So her son came to see her. When he came in the door she tried to sing the song:
I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always.
But she couldn’t finish because she was too old and sick.
The son went to his mother. He held her in his arms very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:

For some people, Fidel Castro was a hero. He freed his country from the control of the United States. Others hated him – there were 638 attempts to murder him. But no one would say that the bearded Castro, who always dressed in green, was not a fighter.
In 2008, the 81-year-old president of Cuba (古巴) stepped down, saying that his poor health kept him from leading his country any longer. “Years of fighting against the US have led to it,” said one professor in Cuba.
Castro was born in 1926, to a rich family of Cuban sugar planters. Although the young Castro was born into wealth, he himself became a fighter for the poor. At 13, he organized a strike because his father treated his workers badly. In middle school, he helped poor students get meat in their school meals.
After college, Castro became a lawyer. He saw that Cuba was “a millionaire’s playground” of rich US businessmen. He made up his mind to help Cuba free itself from US control.
In 1959 Castro led a revolution (革命) that brought him to power. Cuba became a socialist (社会主义的) country on the doorstep of the US. Although some tried to kill Castro and the US wouldn’t do business with Cuba – and even tried to invade (侵略) it – Cuba remained a peaceful country.
In 2006, Castro became very ill. Although he had left office, this fighter refused to give up. He spent his time writing for newspapers.
“I am not saying goodbye to you,” he wrote to Cubans. “But from now on I will be a soldier of ideas. You will be able to count on my words to help you.”
On Nov 25, 2016, Castro died at the age of 90.
