宾语从句(Ⅱ)
1. Could you please tell me where the restrooms are 请你告诉我洗手间
在哪里好吗?
2. Excuse me, do you know where I can get some postcards 打扰一下,
你知道我在哪里可以买到一些明信片吗?
3. I wonder where we should go next. 我想知道接下来我们应该去哪儿。

语法拓展:
以上句子均为含宾语从句的复合句。第1、2、3句中含有疑问词where引导的宾语从句,第4句中含有疑问词when引导的宾语从句。
1. 疑问词引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句是特殊疑问句时,疑问词就是引导词,这时疑问词不可
省略,而且宾语从句要用陈述语序,即:疑问词+主语+谓语+其他?
e.g. Where will we have a meeting 我们将在哪儿开会?
→Could you please tell me where we will have a meeting
你能告诉我我们将在哪儿开会吗?
e.g. What should I do next 下一步我该做什么?
→I wonder what I should do next. 我想知道下一步我该做什么。
2. 含有宾语从句的复合句与简单句的转换
含有宾语从句的复合句在一定条件下可以转化为简单句。
(1) 若主句的主语或宾语与从句的主语一致,由疑问词引导的宾语
从句可以变成“疑问词+动词不定式”的结构。
e.g. I don’t know how I should do it next.
→I don’t know how to do it next. 我不知道下一步应该怎样做。
(2)当主句谓语动词是 see, hear, watch 等时,其后的 that 从句常简化为
“宾语+动词原形/v.-ing形式”。
e.g. I saw some boys were playing basketball on the playground just now.
→I saw some boys playing basketball on the playground just now.
刚才我看到一些男孩正在操场上打篮球。
(3)当主句的谓语动词是 hope, agree, wish 等,且主句的主语与从句的
主语一致时,其后以 that 引导的宾语从句可简化为动词不定式结构。
e.g. He agreed that he could help me with my English.
→He agreed to help me with my English. 他同意帮我学习英语。

pardon me 的用法:
(1)要打扰别人时,意为“对不起,劳驾,打扰一下”,相当于excuse me。
e.g. Pardon me,is this your handbag 打扰一下,这是你的手提包吗
(2)没听清对方的话,希望对方重复一遍时,意为“什么 请再说一次”,
读时用升调,相当于 Pardon 或 I beg your pardon
e.g. Pardon me I couldn’t hear it clearly. 请再说一遍,我听不清楚。
(3)对自己的过错、失礼等表示歉意时,意为“对不起”。
e.g. Oh,pardon me,I didn’t mean to interrupt you. 哦,对不起,我不是故意 打扰你的。

2.Sally needs to mail a letter.萨莉需要邮寄一封信。(教材第20页)
mail 此处用作及物动词,意为“邮寄”,相当于动词 post,还可译为“发电子邮件”。其后可接双宾语,构成短语:mail sb. sth.=mail sth. to sb.,意为“给某人寄某物”。
e.g. Please mail this letter to your father. 请把这封信寄给你父亲。
【拓展】mail 用作不可数名词,意为“邮件;信件”。由 mail 构成的合成词:e-mail 意为“电子邮件”;airmail 意为“航空邮件”。
e.g. When he got to the office,he found a lot of mail waiting for him. 当他到办公室时,他发现有很多邮件等着他(处理)。
