Unit 7 What’s the highest mountain in the world?(Section A 1a-2d)教学设计
主题范畴:本节课属于“人与自然”范畴,涉及地理与自然知识。
一、语篇研读
What: 本课语篇围绕地理知识展开,集中呈现了“世界瑰宝自然地理之最”的相关数据。然后又接住我国人口,历史,河流的话题将学生带入我们自己的地理与人文环境中。里面集中呈现了大数字的读法和表示度量的结构,并进一步拓展了比较级和最高级的使用。
Why: 此节课主要是通过比较来了解中国以及世界地理知识。了解我国和世界的一些“自然地理之最”中的知识,了解我国长城的一些基本知识。让同学们了解世界和中国是如此之神奇美丽,让他们热爱自然,热爱祖国,进而产生民族自豪感,立志努力学习。
How: 文章涉及到的语篇主要是描述我们中国地理知识方面山川河流的高度长度的表达,还有通过世界地理之最来复习最高级的学习和使用。
二、教学目标
通过本课时的学习,学生能够:
1. New words and phrases such as square, meter , deep, desert… (学习理解)
2. Listening skills and be able to talk about geographical facts and nature.(应用实践)
3. Love our country and never let her down.(迁移创新)
核心短语:in size, 2 meters tall/long/wide, the biggest population, one of the biggest, the most popular question, talk about, the ancient emperors

三、学情分析:
我们教学的对象是八年级的学生,学生的学习基础参差不齐。所以我不但要鼓励他们继续的开口说英语,让他们尽可能全部参与到教学活动中来,通过小组合作学习,培养他们的主人翁意识,同时通过深入浅出的讲解与大量的巩固练习,培养他们综合运用语言的能力,尽量让每位学生都能继续体会英语学习的快乐与成功,充分发挥学生主导的作用,保持他们学习的积极性和主动性。
四、教学重点、难点分析
教学重点:
重点词汇的记忆与运用
较大数字的表达方法
形容词各级别句型的掌握
教学难点:
运用形容词的比较级和最高级准确描述人或事物的特征
五、教学方法及手段
自主合作探究法:鼓励学生独立思考,小组合作解决问题。
任务型语言教学法:设计具体任务,让学生在完成任务的过程中学习语言。
多媒体辅助教学:
利用图片、视频等多媒体资源,增强课堂趣味性,帮助学生直观理解。
六、教学步骤

Master how to read large numbers. (学习理解) 1. Play a game: count numbers . 2. Teach them to read large numbers with thousand and million. Read the numbers one by one. 3. Then ask the students “how to read these numbers” and lead them say out . 4. Next, summarize. The teachers should cheer students up and lead them to read large numbers
Design purpose: 通过视觉和听觉的双重刺激,迅速吸引学生的注意力,为接下来的学习做好心理准备。
Use superlative to describe geographical /natural places. Let them use the target language to describe places. (学习理解) 1. Let them look at some videos about these four places and know more about them. 2. Show the target language.“What’s the highest mountain in the world ” “How high is it ”“It’s ...meters high.” 3. Then let them complete 1a and check the answers. 4. Next summarize. The teacher should improve students’ speaking skills. Teach them to read the sentences and check them in order to let students master the target language completely
Design purpose:通过展示世界奇观,拓宽学生视野,激发学生的探索欲。通过句型练习,引导学生掌握新知识,为后续的交际活动打下基础;课文阅读和句型练习,引导学生加深地理知识的了解,夯实基础句型。
Improve students’ listening skills and consolidate target language. 1.Ask the students to listen to the recording without filling in the answer for activity 1b yet. Ask them to identify they have heard. 2.Play the recording for the students again. Ask them to complete 1b. 3.Check the answers as a class. The teachers should improve students’ listening skills. While they are doing the exercise, the teacher look at their answers to check if they can do it correctly
Design purpose:(完成1b 的任务)在听之前指导学生先做出预测,以便更有针对性的完成听力任务。
To help the students use the target language in natural speech. (应用实践和迁移 创新) Use the information in 1b to make conversations as 1c. The teacher listen to their conversations carefully to check if they can use the target language properly.
Design purpose: 让学生根据上面的信息进行语言操练,通过集中模仿听力中大数字的读法,口头再说出这些大数字,并利用想关信息进行实际的语言操练。
Let them get some important numbers and some cultural information by listening and speaking.(学习理解 1. Pre-listening prediction. Let the students attempt to do activity 2b before listen to the recording for activity 2a. 2. Listen and number the facts. 3. Listen and fill in the blanks in 2a with the numbers in the box. 4. Make conversations using the information in 2a. To give them listening and speaking practice with the target language
Design purpose: 通过主要是听说教学,通过听说来了解人文,历史,河流的信息。带入我们自己的地理与人文环境中。此环节应该关注基础较为薄弱的学生,鼓励他们进行分享,并给予及时的肯定和表扬,让他们体验成就感,培养他们交流的 信心,激发学习英语的兴趣。
Answer the questions by reading and improve their understanding skills. (应用实践)。 1. 2d Read the conversation and answer the questions: (1)How long is the Ming Great Wall (2)Which is the most famous part of the Ming Great Wall (3)Why did the ancient emperors build the wall (4)What does the guide say about the wall 2. Let the students retell the dialogue. Let the students answer the question s and check them if they can understand the conversation correctly
Design purpose:通过阅读此对话回答问题来提高同学们的阅读理解能力,并以此来让同学们全面了解我国古代明长城的基本信息,让同学们了解中国历史,感受中国古代人民的智慧和伟大。同学们复述对话,又能更深刻来感受导游讲解这段历史时的自豪感。
Encourage them to use target language in our real life. (迁移创新) 1.Teacher give them some tips and guide them to make a report about Mount Tai. 2.Students show their reports. 3.Play a video: The meaning of China. And educate students to love our country and study hard . The teacher walks around the classroom and check that if they can use the target language correctly
Design purpose: 对学生进行情感态度价值观教育,联系到实际生活,启发学生在日常生活中,要多了解中国历史和地理的知识,热爱祖国大好河山,热爱祖国,刻苦学习,长大报效祖国
