八省联考读后续写深度分析及配套练习
I was in Philadelphia for a conference when I saw an ad in the hotel. A nearby theater was showing a documentary (纪录片) about several local animal shelters that were helping to save abandoned dogs across the country. I love animals, and I felt an urge to go to this fundraising event. However, none of my co-workers would go with me, and I was worried about walking on the street alone at night.
人物 I, co-worker
场景 in Philadelphia, a conference, hotel, theater, street
事件 a documentary about animal shelters
伏笔 1. Others saved abandoned dogs;2. I went to the fundraising event;3.I was worried about walking on the street alone at night.
语言风格 主谓宾结构,配简单从句。第一人称陈述,and用语较多。语言相对平实,情绪稳定。
I resigned myself to spending the evening in my hotel room, but as soon as I got back to my room I felt restless and bored. The theater where the event was taking place was only about five blocks from the hotel, and the area around the hotel didn’t seem particularly dangerous. So, I decided to brave it. I gathered up my wallet and room key and set off.
人物 I
场景 hotel room, theater
事件 How I persuaded myself to take a step forward.
伏笔 1. I felt restless and bored. 2. It didn’t seem particularly dangerous. 3. I decided to go.
语言风格 依旧以简单句行文,但在心理活动描写上加了笔墨。brave it是点睛之笔,可在续写处再次提及。
It was already getting dark and the streets were nearly deserted. I managed to find the street the theater was on, but when I turned the corner, I stopped in shock. In front of the theater were a group of bikers — very big, tough-looking bikers.
人物 I, bikers
场景 street, in front of the theater
事件 I happened to meet some unexpected guys who bothered me a lot.
伏笔 1. deserted streets; 2. in shock; 3. very big, tough-looking bikers
语言风格 本段主要以描写场景、心理状态以及人物外貌的形容词,不断烘托故事的情绪氛围。
I’ve known lots of motorcycle enthusiasts and most are nice people. However, in this case, I was a woman all alone, in a strange neighborhood, at night, and there were twenty or so very large men — all wearing insignia (徽章) that indicated they were in some sort of club — standing before me. Warning bells began to sound in my head, and my heart was pounding. Was I at the right theater Had I misread the date of the event
人物 I, bikers
场景 in front of the theater
事件 I thought about the past experience, but what I saw in front of the theater left me disturbing.
伏笔 1. the comparison between the past and present; 2. insignia and some sort of club; 3.something happened in my head and heart
语言风格 本段以心理活动为主,作者本人在面对某种“危险”时,脑海里一阵翻江倒海,各种天人交战,通过介词短语的插入语成分,以一顿一顿的方式,不断将某种紧张气氛烘托到嗓子眼。
A sign outside the theater told me that I was in the right place on the right evening. Nevertheless, I wondered if I should rush back to my hotel instead of walking through that crowd of bikers. I finally decided that I would be safer inside the theater. Hopefully, the bikers would have gone away by the time the film was over.
人物 I, bikers
场景 in front of the theater
事件 After thinking for a while, I decided to continue my “adventure”.
伏笔 1. the sign; 2. crowd of bikers; 3. safe or dangerous
语言风格 本段继续以心理活动为主,且并未和机车手产生互动,这为后文埋下了伏笔。
I hurried into the theater, only to find there were even more bikers inside.

When the film began, I realized that the bikers were an animal rescue group.

续写的建议:
1.续写需要在文字风格上保持一定的一致性【本文续写:心理活动和场景的细节描写应该摆在首位】;
2.续写应符合一定的人设【本文作者心理活动较多,则明显属于内向之人,具有一定的“社恐”属性,续写时不应过度以对话或互动形式渲染】;
3.续写还要将前文的坑一一填上【本文的坑如上所述的伏笔】;
① 第一段以“我”的感受和所见所闻为主,以动作和心理活动表现不断抬高“紧张”感,可借助机车手的言行给“我”带来的压迫感,来表现“我”的坐立不安;
② 第二段要结合纪录片的内容,揭开机车手的“真正面目”,后者可通过对这些机车手的“反差式”表现进行描写,最后以“我”的认知作为结尾,今晚不虚此行。

1.(2024 琼海模拟) In a house far from the city lived John and his mother.John's only hobby was wandering in the nearby picturesque forest.In its center was a shiny clear lake with schools of fish dancing in it.Lovely animals such as deer or rabbits were playing around and cute birds were singing in trees.Fascinated by the beauty and liveliness of nature,he desired to become a great artist and present all the breath﹣taking scenes to the world.
John studied in the local primary school.Life was not easy for John and his mom after his father died.Knowing what hard work his mother did to make ends meet,John really didn't want his mother to worry.His mother knew the significance of education in life but she was against his dream of becoming an artist. "The profession of artist can't aid a person in meeting his daily expenses," she would say.But as each day passed,John's dream became more passionate.
Due to the living circumstances,even buying some new colors would be a luxury.John only used the worn drawing file and limited colors for his daily practice.Though lacking fine painting materials,he never gave up drawing.He spent a significant amount of time staying in the forest,secretly perfecting his craft.With continuous hard work and a distinct gift for art,he drew beautifully.
One day John read about a competition being held in the town,whose deadline was only two days away.He got the perfect opportunity to fulfill his desire but he was in a dilemma (两难境地) as for the competition he needed special paints and some brushes.He didn't have the courage to ask his mother for money as he knew her prejudice against art.
That evening his mom returned from work and handed him a few paper notes,saying, "This is for your lunch at school next month." The money was enough for his desired materials!John's face lit up.

2.(2024 安庆模拟) On my first summer vacation as a junior high school student,I climbed my first mountain—a fairly gentle 3,900﹣foot peak near where I live in Surrey,British Columbia.I was overweight at the time and out of breath when I reached the summit.But I loved the challenge of conquering something bigger than myself.Soon I climbed nearly 100 peaks.My parents were happy I'd finally found a hobby.I often went climbing with my friend Mel Olsen,whom I'd met in a Facebook group.
Last December,I,together with Mel,came to Oregon to tackle 11,240﹣foot Mount Hood.It's safer to start winter climbs at night when there's less risk of the sun melting the snowpack.That day we started at 3 am,following the paths alongside the ski runs.The temperature was about 14°,and we wore layers we could easily remove,knowing the sports would make us warm.Along the way,we met two other climbers,and the four of us continued on together.
After about five hours,we reached Devil's Kitchen,a plateau(高原) at about10,000 feet.By this point,the wind was howling.My exposed skin felt as though it were burning.The other climbers decided to turn back,but Mel and I went ahead.We had ice axes,helmets,and crampons(攀登钉鞋).We were in high spirits and prepared for the climb.
The trail we followed grew narrower and steeper.At around 9 am,we reached a flight of ice step.It was about three or four feet tall and sloped at a 75﹣degree angle.I volunteered to go first.I placed my left foot on the ice step.Confident I was safe,I put my full weight on it.Suddenly,I heard a crack,and a whole slab of ice broke off the step,right under my foot.
In an instant,I fell backward before I made any response.I could hear Mel calling my name in a trembling voice as I tumbled down,bouncing off the rock face,and rolling down the mountain as if I were a character in a video game.I remember thinking:This is it.You're done.

3.(2024 遵义二模) Belinda and Robert Stone were enjoying a peaceful afternoon together in Barbados—their favorite vacation destination.It was a warm afternoon,and they decided it was the perfect time to go for an ocean swim.
"We were floating around,saying how enjoyable this was,what a terrific holiday." said Belinda."We swam out,not that far but enough to be out of our depth."
The couple—who live in London—are both relatively strong swimmers,Belinda said,so they "felt fully confident" being in the ocean.But they hadn't considered just how strong the current was that particular day.Although they had visited Barbados several times,they didn't realize the specific area they swam to was known for its strong riptide(激流).
The couple noticed that they were floating in the direction of the neighboring beach,so Belinda decided to swim toward the beach they came from,against the current.She soon realized that her husband was floating behind—and was suddenly too far away to even hear her.She attempted to swim to the shore to get help but struggled to push past the current.
"I just couldn't get anywhere," said Belinda,64,who began to scream out for a lifeguard.No one came after a few minutes.
Two teenage girls—Emma.14,and Zoe,13—were surfboarding near the shore.They were in Barbados as part of a swimming camp and both experienced in the water.Zoe spotted Belinda,who was about 85 feet away,and heard her cries for help.The two girls quickly reached Belinda,and Zoe helped pull her onto the surfboard.They swam parallel to the shore and brought Belinda to safety.Belinda,grateful but still scared,told them that her husband was stuck farther out in the ocean.

Amanda,David,and their parents think this is very silly advice.When they see Mr.Benson in the hallway or in the street outside their building,they always say hello with a smile and ask how he is feeling today.
Mr.Benson is very happy to see them.He tells them they are always welcome in his home.He gives Amanda and David some delicious cupcakes to eat.

5.(2024 凉州区校级模拟) Another school year was beginning.I had thirteen excited first graders eager to learn and ready to fill my classroom with laughs,tears,and everything.I realized that I had a small class size and got excited about the special projects we could do.One project that I had been particularly interested in was finding a doctor in Doctors Without Borders as a pen pal for my students,which could definitely broaden my students' horizons.
I began by sending out an e﹣mail to our school district employees asking for names and contact information of any doctor in Doctors Without Borders which they knew of.I sent an e﹣mail to each one asking if we could communicate with them,but only one reply came:Dr.Denisar,who was in Africa for humanitarian medical work.Since six﹣year﹣olds' attention spans were short and many of the students were just learning how to read and write,I thought it would be the best to correspond through e﹣mail.Dr.Denisar quickly became a reward system.If students practiced and could read a book fluently,I would record it and e﹣mail it.If they finished a writing assignment,I would scan it and e﹣mail it.If students were misbehaving,I caught myself saying,"What would Dr.Denisar think about that?"
We also used the information Dr.Denisar included in his e﹣mails as learning opportunities.As we communicated with him,we learned more about him,as well as his missions from disease outbreaks to malnutrition of the locals.We started to lighten things up by recording songs and jokes,and sending art projects and care packages.He appreciated the communication.After Dr.Denisar returned,we continued to communicate with him,as my students had got quite attached.He promised that he would make a trip to our small town in Illinois to meet my class when he could.
The school year was beginning to wrap up when he contacted me in April about coming up to visit in May.For the first time,we began talking on the phone about his visit.

【参考答案】
1.Early the next morning,John secretly left home with the money.He went to a shop,bought what he needed and hurried to the destination where the competition was being held.Seated in the hall,John was quite nervous initially but as he started drawing,he was completely lost in his creation of art.One minute before the end,a vivid picture of a lively forest appeared on the paper.Having submitted it,John headed home cheerfully only to see his mother's angry face.He explained he'd rather skip lunch through the next month than give up the opportunity,which left his mom worried and speechless.
A week later,a phone call came to John's home.It was from the competition organizer,who informed John's mom that John had won the first prize worth of $300 and chances to get his artwork displayed on exhibitions.His mother listened,eyes wide in awe.Never had she expected her son should have such a talent and performance!Guilty,she threw her arms around him,"Son,I'm so sorry.I almost ruined your dream…"She chocked."Mom,I'll never let you down.Believe me!"John assured her.From then on,with his mom's full support,John strived for excellence in his chosen field.
2.I stuck out my arms and legs hopelessly,grabbing at anything.I was overwhelmed with fear and regret.If only I had been more careful!I forced myself to calm down,pressing myself against the slope to slow down.Fortunately,a few minutes later,I came to a stop on a shallow incline.My clothes were shredded,my helmet was broken,and my face was bloodied from cuts and scratches.I made an attempt to stand up but in vain.Unable to move an inch further,I lay on the ice shivering and in pain,waiting for rescue.
As Mel made her way down,I yelled for help,and other climbers came to my rescue.With them rushing toward me,I sighed with relief.They made great efforts to relieve me of the suffering.Some offered to splint my leg and some called Portland Mountain Rescue while Mel stayed by my side,hugging me tightly to keep me warmer and less painful.So experienced and comforting were they that I was no longer as frightened as before.Eventually,I was sent to the hospital.I stayed for a long time.However,on my recovery,with greater caution and better preparations I returned on the trails.
3.The girls were the only ones at the water's edge.Without hesitation,they turned their surfboard back toward the sea,determined to find Robert.Emma paddled while Zoe kept a watchful eye for any sign of Robert.The current was still strong,but the girls persevered,knowing that every second counted.After a few tense minutes,they spotted Robert struggling against the waves.Emma quickly maneuvered the surfboard towards him,and with Zoe's assistance,they managed to pull him onto the board.
Finally,they made it to shore.Belinda and Robert were both exhausted but relieved to be safe.They hugged the girls tightly,tears of gratitude streaming down their faces.The locals who had witnessed the ordeal applauded the brave actions of the two teenage girls.Emma and Zoe smiled shyly,happy that they had been able to help.The incident had strengthened their bond with the island,and they left Barbados with fond memories of their time spent saving lives.
4.The next day,Mrs.Clarence talks to her neighbors. "You really must get to know Mr.Benson.He is so funny!And he is a fantastic chef.He told us the amazing story of his scar.He had an accident when he was helping his parents on their farm." The neighbors all feel very silly.They do not know anything about Mr.Benson.They all start to follow the examples the Clarence gave them.
Soon,they all enjoy Mr.Benson's delicious cakes every weekend at their dinners.Everyone brings something to these weekly dinners,and they share their food and their time with each other.What they love most of all are Mr.Benson's funny stories!As they watch Amanda and David play and laugh with Mr.Benson,the neighbors all see that there was nothing to be afraid of.They were not kind to the old man,and he is really a good person.Everyone in the building is happier because of the good example the Clarence family set for them.Mr.Benson does not feel lonely anymore because he is part of the community.
5.As the day of his visit approached,the kids began to get nervous.Early in the morning,they lined up in front of the school gate,waiting for his arrival with flowers in their hands.Never had I seen any of them so anxiously waiting to do anything.Seeing their smiling faces and reflecting on how they had improved since the correspondence,I felt so confident that they would get along well with Dr.Denisar.A car pulled up in front of the school and out stepped a handsome young man.It was Dr.Denisar.
A whole morning had passed before we knew it.And it was time that Dr.Denisar should leave.Before he left,as was scheduled,we lined up and invited him to address us.He told the kids to be devoted to their studies and make contributions to the world when they grew up,adding that the friendship between them would be built up.Hearing this inspiring speech,I felt I was right to begin the bond between them.
