The Nile River is the longest river in the world. It’s called “Father of African Rivers”. The Nile River was important to survival (生存) in ancient Egypt.
Egyptian people depended heavily on the river for drinking and bathing. The Nile was also an important transportation route (路线). Traders traveled along the river. They transported objects to other areas. Fishermen used the Nile to catch fish for food. Workers moved stones and other things for making pyramids (金字塔).
The ancient Egyptians created inventive ways of using the river. One important invention, still used today, is the “shaduf”. This was designed to get water from the river and move it so the water could be used on land to help the crops grow.
In ancient Egypt, the Nile River flooding wasn’t considered a natural disaster (灾难). Not only did the flooding help water crops, but it also deposited (沉淀) rich soil along the banks of the Nile. The soil was used to grow crops to feed the ancient Egyptians. The flooding of the Nile also helped ancient Egyptians survive by providing shelter. When the Nile flooded, it left behind rich soil, as well as mud. The ancient Egyptians used this mud to build mud-brick houses.

You can be proud of yourselves, even if you can only make one or two of these green changes. The goal here is to limit carbon dioxide (二氧化碳) and other greenhouse gases, which are closely connected to the big problem of global-warming (全球变暖).
Way 1:Bring your own cup to Starbucks. You'll get a 10-cent discount, and it's one less paper cup to end up in a dustbin. The store won't create more waste when they throw away a cup.
Way 2 : Turn off your computer. When in standby mode (待机模式), your PC is still using energy. Turning off a monitor (显示器) for 40 hours a week may only save $ 5 a month, but it reduces CO2 by 750 pounds!
Way 3: Reuse plastic bags. Instead of throwing away 100 billion plastic bags a year, try and get a second, third, or tenth use out of them. Better yet, next time you shop, try a reusable bag. You're reducing pollution. The amount of oil it would take to make just 14 plastic bags would run your car for one mile.
Way 4: Use recycled paper in the bathroom. Most of the toilet paper we use is made from trees found in forests previously untouched by humans. If every family took the place of one roll of toilet paper with a recycled one, 424, 000 trees would still be standing.
Way 5: Plant a free. Adding green to your garden is beautiful and earth-pleasing. Just one tree will help make cleaner air and save the environment from 5, 000 pounds of hot carbon dioxide each year.
76.What is happening when your PC is in standby mode
77. What’s the advantage of using recycled paper in the bathroom
78.How many ways are mentioned in the passage
79.What other ways do you usually do to protect the environment

One possible version:
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon!
My name is Li Hua. I am from China. I am very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. My topic is “The Spring Festival”. To the Chinese people, it is one of the most important traditional festivals. It is usually in January or February.
When Chinese New Year comes, people start to do some cleaning and shopping. Besides, windows and doors will be decorated with red paper cutting and couplets with popular themes of “ happiness”, “wealth” and “longevity”. On the eve of the Spring Festival, we usually get together to have a big dinner and watch a great Spring Festival Gala on TV. During the festival, we wear new clothes to visit relatives and friends, and greet them with our best wishes. Children can also get red packets and other presents from their elders.
More and more people throughout the world pay much attention to it. I hope you will celebrate this Spring Festival with us.
That's all for my speech. Thank you.
