A bunch of strangers showed up at the gym in the early morning of the last Sunday of April.A few athletes were already stretching( 拉 伸 )their arms, but most of us could hardly focus. As I was burning off last night's wrong decision—a big meal,I spotted a poster about a gym's 21-day workout challenge, and I immediately signed up.I always wanted to train for a marathon,so I considered this as my warm-up.Besides,I needed to stop being lazy and this was my chance to make a change.
It was easy to promise onpaper, but three weeks of recommended exercise routines and diet restrictions( 限 制 )wouldn't be easy.I stuck to working out 30 minutes a day,and I didn't disturb ( 干 扰 )my normal routine.Instead,I had to be faced with the tough work of being more creative in my spare time, thus breaking some bad habits.
Overcoming weaknesses with willpower was my goal for the next part of the journey. But the difficult part about making a challenge is realizing that"wanting"and“doing"are two very different things.Just like a career, you have to physically work for it rather than just wait for it to happen. But that's hard.Throughout the 21 days,I often told myself that the challenge was meaningless and tried to halt exercises. However, finally I overcame that negative thought and kept working out.
At the end of the challenge,I learmed something important:Feeling the results is better than seeing them.I had fewer headaches and more energy, and was simply happier.I even felt a little smarter as I researched which foods were better for my body, and learned how to make healthier meals.I felt a sense of accomplishment( 成 就 ) ,too, because even though I wanted to give up dozens of times,I didn't.I felt my waist( 腰 )got slimmer and my arms got stronger, and Ino longer felt guilty after having a piece of cake or a drink.

Efforts were underway in Bangladesh to deliver food and drinking water to millions of people struggling after a heavy rain led to flooding, which struck a quarter of the country. There are around 3.5 million Bangladeshis at risk of river flooding every year according to a 2023 report by the World Bank.

If someone were to ask me what it is like to be a student in today's society( 社 会 ) ,I would probably answer them something like this:Being a student in today's society is not always easy.
Adults often tell us that we don't know what stress(压力)is.But we as teenage students have our own levels of stress. For example, all school activities require you to uphold your grade point to high standards. Then, getting your homework turmed in on time seems simple, but you still hope to have a life outside of school as well. Many students in their high school years start their first job,so now you have school in the momings, followed by responsibilities needing to be taken at home and then you're off to work.By the time you are done there, you are too tired to finish your schoolwork, but you stay up late to try and retum to school feeling sleepy the next day. What good is that
Let's not forget about peer(同龄人)pressure. All high school students meet with it at some point in their lives.High school can be a place where students are made fun of,singled out (挑出)and pointed at.
My point is,it is a whole lot more stressful to be a student in high school than adults believe. Our“stress"may not include paying bills or taking care of a family, but I'm sure if the adults in our lives could go back to school today, they would be surprised at how much it has changed.
I don't want you to think for a minute that there aren't good moments and memories while you are students. My mum always tells me to enjoy them while I can.I know that the world outside of school is often hard and that the responsibilities are serious. That's exactly why I know that the focus I give to my future is important in leading me to a career (事业)that will allow me to contribute( 贡 献 )to society.
32.What is the author's attitude towards students'doing a job after school
A.He is understanding about it. B.He is unclear about it.
C.He is supportive of it. D.He is against it. 33.Which of the following is the author's viewpoint
A.Adults are more stressful than students.
B.Adults have undervalued students'stres8.
C.Adults should help students to deal with stress.
D.Adults should go back to school to experience students'life. 34.What does the author's mother always advise him to do

C.Seriously shoulder responsibilities outside school.
D.Actively enjoy the wonderful time of middle school. 35.What can be a suitable title for the text
