T: Hello, everyone! In the first period of this unit, we’ve learned a guide to exercise for beginners. Today we will review the text, appreciate the language in it, and discuss how to use some of the words and phrases, and practise using them in new situations.

Step 2 Building vocabulary
1. Word study: congratulation
(1) T introduces the meaning of congratulation.

4. Word study: range
(1) T introduces the meaning of range and introduces some useful collocations.
(2) T introduces more meanings of range, as a noun and as a verb.

5. Word study: instead

Step 3 Accumulating chunks
T shows Ss some phrases, and asks them to find them in the text and translate them into Chinese.
