一般过去时
表示过去某个时间或某一段时间内发生的动作或存在的状态，也可表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。
·They had a math test last week. 上周他们举行了数学测验。
·He was in the library just now. 刚才他在图书馆里。
· He often wrote stories at night last year. 去年他经常在夜间写故事。
考点1 一般过去时的时间状语
一般过去时要和表示过去的时间状语连用，如yesterday, last night, last year, 时间+ ago, just now, in + 年份等。
·I played football yesterday. 我昨天踢了足球。
·In 2020, we went on a trip to Hainan. 在2020年,我们去海南旅行了。
·Three days ago, I lost my favourite pen. 三天前,我丢了我最爱的钢笔。
考点2 一般过去时的句式结构
1. 肯定句
(1)主语+was / were + 其他.
(2)主语+ 动词过去式+ 其他.
·She was born on a cold morning. 她出生在一个寒冷的早上。
·Bob wanted to go to Shanghai last year. 鲍勃去年想去上海。
2. 否定句
(1)主语+ was / were +not + 其他.
(2)主语+ did not/didn’t + 动词原形+ 其他.
·Her younger sister wasn’t at home yesterday. 她妹妹昨天不在家。
·We didn’t agree with you. 我们不同意你的观点。
3. 一般疑问句
(1)Was / Were + 主语+ 其他？
(2)Did + 主语+ 动词原形+ 其他？
·Were you very tired last night 你昨晚很累吗？
·Did he invite you to his party 他邀请你参加他的聚会了吗？
(3)一般疑问句的肯定回答：Yes, 主语+was/were/did.
(4)一般疑问句的否定回答：No，主语+wasn’t/weren’t/didn’t.
·—Were you born in Beijing 你出生在北京吗？
—Yes, I was. /No, I wasn’t.
是的，我出生在北京。/ 不，我不是出生在北京。
· —Did he start school there 他在那里上学吗？
—Yes, he did. /No, he didn’t. 是的，他在。/ 不，他不在。
4. 特殊疑问句
(1)含有be 的特殊疑问句：
疑问词+ was / were + 主语+ 其他？
·Where were you just now 刚才你在哪里？
(2)含有行为动词的特殊疑问句：
①疑问词+ 助动词did + 主语+ 动词原形+ 其他？
·When did you come back home yesterday 昨天你什么时候回到家
②疑问词(作主语)+ 动词过去式+ 其他？
·Who helped you with your English 谁帮助你学习英语？
考点3 动词过去式的构成
动词过去式的构成分为规则变化和不规则变化两类。
动词过去式的规则变化如下：
变化规则 原形 过去式
一般动词结尾加-ed walk, listen, look, finish walked, listened,
looked, finished
以“不发音的字母e”结尾的动词后加-d live, notice, decide lived, noticed,
decided
变化规则 原形 过去式
以“辅音字母+y”结尾的动词，变y 为i，再加-ed hurry, marry hurried, married
以“一个元音字母+ 一个辅音字母”结尾的重读闭音节动词，先双写辅音字母，再加-ed stop, step stopped, stepped
一些动词过去式不是规则变化，如：let—let; put—put; read—read; come—came; run—ran; hear—heard; bring—brought; feel—felt; get—got; find—found; have/has—had; keep—kept; sit— sat; eat—ate; know—knew; take—took; go—went; leave—left; say—said 等。
