When you introduce people to each other, the first rule is to remember the names of everyone you're introducing. The person whose name you mention first is quite important; lower status (地位) people are always introduced to higher status people. "High" status should be reserved (保留) for Presidents, Prime Ministers and your parents.

At an introduction, a handshake is not always required. A man always waits for the woman to hold out her hand, and a younger always waits for the elder to hold out his or her hand.
After being introduced, the person whose name comes second in the introduction is supposed to start a small conversation. Say anything except the others' looks. Don't talk about politics and religion (宗教). Comment on the party, or about the weather, or the beautiful pictures on the wall. This small talk is not to collect information but to connect on a one to one level.

It is very important to have a philosophy of life (人生哲学) to base your life on. And I base my life on the philosophy that success is a journey, not a destination (目的地). It means that what matters is not necessarily where you are in the end, but what you have achieved along the way. It means that as long as you have tried, you are not a failure. It means that you can learn from your mistakes and begin your next journey.
I think the Los Angeles Rams, a professional American football team, share the same philosophy with me. They play every game to the full instead of letting a few victories go to their head. They pay undivided attention in the Super Bowl, a football game played in the US each year, usually on a Sunday late in January. They know that although they have lost some games, they shouldn't give up. And they won't give up.
If you don't have the ability to be on top in the end, it won't matter; what matters is that you need to work hard the whole time. You should understand that success is a journey, not a destination. Somebody has to win, and somebody has to lose. The most important thing is that both sides have to try their best. And the same applies to life.
(1) The writer mainly explains _____ in Paragraph 1.
A.his journey B.his philosophy of life
C.his dream D.his success

A.if we don't win, we are a failure
B.we needn't work hard
C.it's important to try our best whatever we do
D.it's important to understand the meaning of life
(3) Which of the following is RIGHT according to the passage
A.What you achieve along the way is important.
B.The Super Bowl is a football game played in the US every Sunday.
C.The Los Angeles Rams always win.
D.If you don't have the ability to win a game, you needn't try hard.
(4) What's the best title for the passage
A.Learn from a football team
B.It's important to have a philosophy of life
C.Success is a journey, not a destination
D.Don't mind losing a game

We may know that there are four basic periods for human beings to pass through when you enter and live in another country. This process (过程) helps you deal with culture shock (文化冲击).
Culture shock begins with the "honeymoon period": This is the time when you first arrive in a place where everything about the new culture is strange and exciting. You see new things, hear new sounds and language, and eat new kinds of food. This period can last for quite a long time because you feel very happy.
Unluckily, the second period can be more difficult. After you have got used to your new life, you can become very uncomfortable and begin to miss your motherland, your family, your friends, your pets and so on. All the little problems in life seem to be much bigger and more worrying when you face them in a foreign country. This period can be very difficult and lead to moving backwards quickly.
The third period is called the "adjustment period". This is when you begin to realize that things are not so bad in the new country. Your sense of humor usually becomes stronger and you realize you are becoming stronger by learning to take care of yourself in the new place. Things are still difficult, but you are now a survivor (幸存者).
The fourth period can be called "at ease at last". Now you feel quite comfortable in your new place. You can deal with most problems that you have. You may still have problems with language, but you know you are strong enough to deal with them. At this time, you may feel a little uncomfortable if you go back to your motherland.

Several years ago in America, a television reporter was talking to three of the most important people. One was a very rich banker, another owned one of the largest companies in the world, and the third owned many buildings in the center of New York.

"If you want to see a thing well, reach out and touch it!"
That may seem a strange thing to say. But touching things can help you to see them better.
Your eyes can tell you that a glass ball is round. But by holding it in your hands, you can also feel how smooth and cool the ball is. You can feel how heavy the glass is. When you feel all these about the ball, you really see it. With your skin, you can feel better. For example, your hands can tell the difference between two coins in your pocket. You can feel a little drop of water on the back of your hand, too.
All children soon learn what "Don't touch!" means. They hear it often. Yet most of us keep on touching things as we grow up. In shops, we touch things we might buy—food, clothes and so on. To see something well, we have to touch it. The bottom of our feet can feel things, too. You know this when you walk on warm sand, cool grass or a hard floor. All feel different under your feet.
There are ways to improve your feeling. One way is to close your eyes and try to feel everything that is touching your skin. Feel the shoes on your feet, the clothes on your body, the air on your skin. At first, it is not easy to feel these things. You are too used to them!
Most museums are just for looking. But today some museums have some things to touch. Their signs say, "Do touch!" There you can feel everything on show.
If you want to see better, reach out and touch. Then you will really see!

A.Touching is helping us to see better.
B.Our skin may help us know the things well.
C.Many parts of our body can feel things.

A.You can only feel the weight of a thing in your hand.
B.The bottom of our feet can feel best.

(6) Which of the following can be the best title of the story
