Step 2 Planning
As a class, Ss are required to think about the disadvantages and advantages of bringing mobile phones to school. Make a list of what Ss say. Then T makes a summary.
Advantages Disadvantages
We can use our mobile phone to pay for almost everything at the school shop. We can contact our family and friends at any time, especially in emergencies, such as being sick and being late to return home. They can help us consult learning materials more conveniently and faster when we have difficulties in studies. We can listen to the music to get relaxed during the break. ... Mobile phones can break down interpersonal relationships with classmates and teachers. We put much time and energy on conversations through QQ, WeChat or other social networking applications rather than face to face talk. 2. Using mobile phones too much is bad for our physical health. For example, looking at the screen for hours, our eyes will be dry. Bending over our phone can cause pain in the back and the shoulder. 3. Mobile phones can become a distraction in students’ lessons. New messages will surely distract students’ focus on what the teacher is saying in front of the class. 4. Mobile phones can help students cheat in the exam easily. 5. ...
2. Each student chooses one aspect to research. Then divide the whole class into two groups. In groups, Ss discuss how to divide the following tasks among themselves. Write the name of the group member beside the tasks.

Second speaker (Argue against the previous opposition speakers and introduce new arguments): ____________________________________
