教材分析
本节课选自 2019 年人教版高中新教材必修二 Unit5 Reading and Thinking——Music。本单元的主题语境是人与社会主题下的音乐领域的概况及其发展。作为本单元的第一课时,通过多模态语篇围绕主题进行听、说、读等语言实践活动,聆听记者对三位学生的采访,了解学生的音乐喜好及其原因。通过主题语篇的学习和多样化的听说实践活动,学生可以获取梳理不同的音乐类型和乐器种类,表达自身的音乐喜好及其原因,了解中西方音乐文化差异,分享音乐跨域文化差异带给人类的积极影响,弘扬中国优秀音乐文化,了解音乐在人们生活中的重要性,学会享受音乐,享受生活,加深对音乐主题意义的探究。
该板块的主题是“谈论喜爱的音乐”(Talk about music preferences),谈论音乐喜好是中学生的常见话题,他们喜欢各种类型的音乐:有人喜欢西方古典音乐,有人喜欢通俗音乐,有人喜欢中国传统音乐。只要音乐的内容积极向上,学生的爱好都值得尊重和赞赏。该模块听力文本包括三个短对话,是一名记者对三个学生的采访,参访学生喜欢的音乐类型及原因。三个对话结构大体一致,重点问句是“what kind of music do you like Why ”。本文本涉及一个重要的听力策略—解释策略(paraphrase),解释策略有两个关键点,一是要用更简单或更清楚的说法;二是表达的意思不变。本模块首先用图片激发学生的兴趣,然后通过三段采访听力材料让学生获取对音乐种类的初步认识,学习表达音乐类型和其感受喜好的相关词汇和语言表达形式,最后通过一段口语对话练习,学会使用目标语言谈论自己喜欢的音乐类型,提高学生对音乐的鉴赏能力。
学情分析
高一学生比较熟悉音乐这一主题,经过初中英语能力的发展和前期高中英语学习的培养,他们已经具备在听力过程中围绕语篇主题内容,提取重点信息,掌握主旨大意,理解复杂表达;能够听懂发音标准,语速适中的文本材料;具备在日常生活运用所学知识进行简单的口语交流。部分同学单词发音不够标准,用词不够准确,对英语口语表达存在畏难心理;大部分同学对听力技巧掌握不到位,不能熟练运用各种听力技能,不能很好地运用所学知识联系实际 表达自己的观点和喜好。
课时目标
1.To learn to identify different types of music;
2.To practice listening for detailed information about music preference;
3.To get to know what is paraphrase and to understand key information by using this technique while listening;
4.To talk about the role music plays in your daily life.
教学重难点:
引导学生掌握听力技巧,本次重点讲解了 paraphrase这一交流技巧的使用。通过听力练习前的问题设置和听力过程中的提示,帮助学生更好地理解听力材料,提高听力水平
学习活动
Step 1: Lead-in
Show 5 different pieces of music and students try to recognize what types of music they belong to
【设计意图】帮助学生了解不同音乐类型和掌握有关音乐类型的词汇,学生通过以往的知识、将旧知和新知建立起结构性的关联。
Step 2: Pre-listening
Task 1: Finish EX 2 on page 50. Ask students to match the pictures with the correct types of music.
Task 2: Look and Say. Students try to use present continuous tense to describe what the people are doing in the pictures

Step 3: While-listening
Task 1:Listen for the main ideas.
Ask students to listen to the interviews and draw lines between the words to make complete sentences. Tell
students that some words will not be used.
Suggested answers:
①The first student likes to listen to country music.
②The second student likes to dance to hip-hop music.
③The third student likes to play classical music.

Task 2: Listen for detailed information.
Ask students to listen to the interviews again and complete the sentences.
Suggested answers:

进行铺垫。
Task 3:Summarise the listening strategy and tell students how to use paraphrase.
Ask students to go through the listening strategy, paraphrase and make sure students understand it.
Paraphrase: Explain something difficult to somebody by using easier words with the same meaning. Mainly used
to check if our comprehension is correct and to show our interests in the others' words.
【设计意图】总结、梳理、概括解释策略的具体应用,为后面的活动打好语言基础。
Step 4: Post-listening
Task 1: Group work. Discuss the following questions(5 m).Ask some students to share their opinions.
1.Do these types of music make you feel the same as the students Why or why not
Suggested answers: Classical music also makes me feel relaxed because I also find it peaceful and beautiful.
2. What type of music do you not like, and how does it make you feel
Suggested answers: I don’t like heavy metal music at all. It’s too loud and fast. It gives me a headache!

的活动任务进行简单的语言和内容铺垫。
Task 2: Pair work. Do the role play. Interview each other about music preference. Give some tips and let students
use paraphrase for idea.(6 m)

Reasons for liking music: touches my heart /soul/ makes me happy/want to dance/gives me energy/hope/helps

A: What kind of music do you like
B: I like traditional Chinese music, for example, the music of the pipa,a stringed instrument.
A: What makes it so special to you
B: It reminds me of my hometown and the people that I love. My grandmother plays the pipa very well.

Task 3: Think and answer. Through learning, try to answer what role music play in your daily life.

Step 5: Summary
