第二节:Two Possible Versions
① This saying highlights the positive effect of laughter on our physical and mental well-being. It
serves as a powerful stress reliever. When we laugh, the level of stress chemicals in our body falls.
Also, a good laugh increases blood flow to the heart, thereby helping to protect us from heart disease.
I was once overwhelmed with a lot of stress, and I scarcely smiled during those days. One day
a friend of mine shared a funny video during lunch. It was so funny that all of us burst into hearty
laughter. At that moment, the shadow that had been haunting me faded and a ray of light cracked in.
That’s when I realized what laughter means to us. Life may throw bad things at us, but laughter
offers a way to rise above them.
② This saying tells us the importance of active engagement in the learning process. Information
we hear can be easily forgotten. Visual aids may enhance our memory but that kind of memory can
also fade over time. True understanding is often achieved through hands-on activities.
When I was little, I had trouble understanding the concept of “fractions.” My teacher explained
the definition and the rules in class, and also provided exercises for us, but the term “fraction” still
didn’t make much sense to me. The real breakthrough came when my brother and I was sharing a
pizza. As I was slicing the pizza, he said he wanted 1/4 of it. That’s when the aha moment came! So,
learning by doing might be the best way for us to truly thrive in our education.

M: Me, too! I can’t get over how he imitates his parents.

M: Dad has been working a lot lately. Maybe we can try doing imitations ourselves to help him
relax.
W: Good idea. We can put on a little comedy show!
W: Have you noticed that nearly everyone is sending strange emojis on social media recently
M: Yeah. I feel like they are doing it to follow the trend.

M: I was honestly surprised by how serious it was. Jason talked a lot about the pain behind comedy,
which I hadn’t expected.
W: Same here. He said comedy is turning your pain into something others can laugh at—that’s what
makes it real.
M: Exactly. It’s about sharing what truly affects you.
W: And Jason doesn’t hold back from sharing the hardest parts of his life.
M: Yes, he even talked about growing up with a heart condition and his surgery, and how that
connects to his comedy.
W: He found that comedy brings people together, helping them laugh through their pain. That’s
powerful.
M: Absolutely. He transforms his pain into something positive, bringing happiness to others.

Creativity isn’t about being a genius—it’s about staying curious. Here are some tips that
help you to become creative.
First, try something new. Read books outside your field. Talk to people with different ideas.
You’d be surprised how often creativity comes from unexpected places. Don’t be afraid of failure.
It is part of the process.
Another big part of it is to cooperate with others. Two heads are always better than one.
Brainstorm, build on each other’s ideas, and don’t be afraid to question assumptions.
The last key is to be persistent. Don’t stop when things get tough—keep pushing, improving,
and testing. Make time to reflect, let your brain breathe, and value original ideas even if they’re
not perfect.
The more you embrace this process, the more you’ll see creativity everywhere.

Hi, everyone. Today’s debate topic is, “Should philosophy lessons be offered in every high
school ” Before my speech, I surveyed some of my classmates. Not many had attended
philosophy classes at any point in their education. I asked those who hadn’t if they felt regretful.
Surprisingly, many said no and gave replies such as, “Philosophy isn’t very helpful in real life, is
it ” Well, I disagree. It’s true that a philosophy degree won’t lead directly to a specific career.
However, studying philosophy teaches us to think and discuss ideas. It also opens our minds to
different viewpoints. Plus, it improves our historical and cultural awareness. That’s why I
strongly believe all high school students should study philosophy.
